This is the right time to invest in Bitcoin and altcoin. In current market is down so you invest as soon as possible. Because it will be raise in soon. You should check past and present status of the altcoin and you should estimate the amount in single investment or more.  But don't invest in tokens. Because it is hard to predict the future profit. So you should invest in coin is the best option.

First of all before even thinking of investing you should know your budget and how much money you are willing to loose. Let's face it not all investments turns out good so it is always better to invest the money you are willing to loose. Second is to do your research on the potential altcoins you want to invest in, check on historical trends and other factors affecting the rise and fall of prices, next is plan when to invest. After doing all your research you should have a better understanding and information on when the price drop, what is the lowest drop and highest amount the coin has ever reach so you have atleast the idea when to invest. Always buy low and sell high to get profits out of your coins, consider as well the transaction fees when computing for potential income. Never sell a coin when the price is lower than what you bought it for instead just hold on to those coins and sell in a later time when their prices pumps.

my advice for your cousin would be start using google, and do not invest in any crypto for a month. After a month of reading and studying about how cryptomarket works start with small amounts in top tier alts. After a couple of months you are ready for "gem" searching and more risky trades. I think for beginners it's hard to choose a good altcoin to invest long-term or short. but maybe eth is more suitable to be invested for beginners, because eth function can be used to buy other altcoin. besides it can be kept in the long term.
