Title: Exploding fans Post by: blackchallis on January 16, 2018, 04:25:12 PM Hello Everyone,
Dont know what happened but kaboom, blades all over the place, one of my fans on my D3 went mental and shattered, luckily I was making a cuppa when this happened and I turned the miner off before it went pop. The unit itself is fine as I've swapped fans from another D3 to check. My Question is, What fan/s can I use to replace the damaged unit. Bitmain are currently out of stock, Ideally Id like to get one fast. location UK I've seen people selling these qfr1212ghe, would this work? Regards :) Title: Re: Exploding fans Post by: -doubleU- on January 16, 2018, 08:58:45 PM You need a 120*120*38mm with 4-pin plug and 6000rpm or more. Cable length of wire must ~24cm.
Title: Re: Exploding fans Post by: alh on January 16, 2018, 11:42:04 PM Isn't there a label on the fan that exploded, or that you swapped in ? Virtually all Antminer gear requires a fan with high static pressure. CFM and RPM don't tell the whole story on the required Fan characteristics. You can, and should, measure the old one to confirm dimensions, though the 120mm x 38mm sounds about.
You really should have the info you need. Title: Re: Exploding fans Post by: blackchallis on January 17, 2018, 11:10:20 AM Hi Thanks for your replies.
