Title: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: TunerDude007 on January 17, 2018, 05:24:36 AM Has no one posted anything about this one yet? I can't find anything but apparently they are already sold out. If my calculations are correct it should net 400usd + per day. But if anything it will most likely be a flop just like the D3's were. Opinions please?

Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: Druiz287 on January 17, 2018, 05:34:50 AM My calculations say the same. SiaCoin has always just been a coin for dual miners who go after ethereum. This would be great if it works the way it’s supposed to.

Bitmain is saying it will go on sale in 1 hour. 2:30pm their time. Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: TunerDude007 on January 17, 2018, 05:38:06 AM After the D3 fiasco I will not purchase this miner. The network will not be able to handle the sudden increase and profits will drop to 10 bucks a day within a week.

Propably those who get in the first batch see some nice returns, but if they produce more than one it'll be just another D3. Is Siacoin only one which can be mined with this? Anyway this new ASIC looks legit, I received an email directly from bitmain. Will probably make Siacoin obselete for dual mining with Claymore. For those who are curious, here are its specs:
Parameters of ANTMINER A3 No. Parameters Value 1 Product model A3 2 Hash ASIC type BM1720 3 Hashing algorithm Blake(2b) 4 Total quantity of hash chips 180 chips 5 Total quantity of hash boards 3 boards per miner 6 Total hash rate 815GH/s±5% 7 DC voltage input 11.60~13.00 V 8 DC current input @12V DC 98.8 A +7% 9 DC Power @12V DC input 1186 W +7% 10 220VAC Power @25℃ ,93% conversion efficiency of APW3 1275 W +7% Problem is, its already out of stock. Lol. Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: tuaris on January 17, 2018, 05:58:10 AM Grr... shameful that BCH is so low right now.
Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: rogerrodger on January 17, 2018, 06:07:54 AM Is this the next D3?

Where do you see 1 per person? Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: achtung082 on January 17, 2018, 06:34:46 AM At checkout its 1 per person
"Due to high demand and limited units, each customer can only buy 1 Antminer A3 in total. You've bought 1 already, your remaining buying quota is 0" Not even 1 per person per day, you get 1 total. This is great for batch 1, this gives everyone a chance at the lotto. I did want to get an extra one for a friend who is just starting out on the mining road. This would have been a good first miner, but he will just have to wait for the next batch. Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: tuaris on January 17, 2018, 06:41:19 AM heh, the BCH price went up by $200.
Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: TunerDude007 on January 17, 2018, 06:42:45 AM Sales are now live and currently available on bitmains site as we speak... Only bitcoincash accepted as a form of Payment and you only have one hour to pay from time of order. It's next to impossible for me to convert most of my coins to bch within an hour to purchase. But what I find really cool is these miners use the same chips as the D3 and the same amount, 180 chips. So these just may be clones of D3's with simply just a different algo. Which may prove to be very promising for future software releases for the D3

When D3 was first announced we were looking at 400 + bucks per day... Where is it now... Barely 10 bucks per day... Barely profitable still unless you have cheap or free hydro Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: tuaris on January 17, 2018, 06:46:10 AM Sales are now live and currently available on bitmains site as we speak... Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: QuintLeo on January 17, 2018, 11:24:48 AM If they sell 750 of these in the first batch, the total network hashrate will DOUBLE.
You do the math after that - and keep in mind that their normal batch size recently on any of their miners seems to be in the 3000 per batch OR MORE ballpark. Folks that can manage to get in on the first batch will probably make out - if they do more batches after that profitability will quickly collapse. This also assumes that this miner model is RELIABLE - big risk when they're only letting you buy ONE. Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: majorlee on January 17, 2018, 08:42:08 PM its back to sold out now damn it! lol wait for next release Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: seebr on January 18, 2018, 04:13:11 AM it sells again

Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: QuintLeo on January 18, 2018, 08:31:53 PM well rip oblelisk dcr miner they are not on sale yet , it says jan 17 tho Should not affect their announced DCR miner, but it might kill their announced SIA miner. Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: Bob-Bit on January 18, 2018, 08:43:37 PM Yea, this could be awesome, but I can't risk that much loot at the moment, especially after the D3 debacle. I'll probably regret it later, but it's not like I just keep BCH laying around either, and they don't want my BTC, so that makes it a slightly easier decision.
Title: Re: Antminer Bitmain A3 Blake2b asic miner Post by: AleksClark on January 22, 2018, 02:45:09 PM Greetings, on the behalf of the sia community I'd like to welcome A3 miners to our project.
We recommend staying away from antpool or f2pool, and going with some existing community-run pools. Sia is about storage, and we've already had issues with F2Pool in mining empty blocks, so if you want the coins you mined to continue to be worth something, please check out the complete list here: https://siastats.info/pools_list.html We really want to avoid bitcoin's governance problems, and the community will take action if Sia's function (storage) is threatened by bad pools, so please pick small pools and help us stay decentralized!
