Hi! Couldn't find any topics on bitcointalk about ICO of Telegram messenger. Not sure that this topic belongs to this discussion board but couldn't find anything more relevant...
So is it for real that Telegram is planning a huge ICO or internet is just going crazy about fake news?   ??? ??? ???

At news online, they told something like that. But it is not official yet. We all waiting something like this big. But, i don’t think they give it a start in this rough times...

Yes , it is true , the command telegrams will hold ICO . Want to collect 500 000 000 $ . And there will still be some fees from certain large sums , like everyone is not so easy to come by

I think that telegram is one of bounty social media. Many ICO give chance for the bounty hunter to join their telegram and they will give many rewards for people who join them in telegram. So it is real news and not scam :)

no any official info about it . only rumors,  but i heard from a lot my friends investors , that there was already somewhere WP of TON. Search in google for it.

I don't see the official ANN, but what they say in the discussions is very similar to the fact that Telegram stole ideas from another project - e-Chat (decentralized messenger with multicurrency wallet and blog platform with "crypto-like" function).

I read about $1.2 bln but still not sure it's true news. The information I'm finding seems controversial. What is your source?

We can't be sure about it , until Durov declare it officially . Everything that comes from unofficial sources can be just a manipulation and scam .

The official statement from the telegram team was not yet, but yesterday on some (I do not remember exactly) the channel in the telegram read the news that there will be an ICO. True or not, I do not know, lately a lot of fake news.

Plans,at the moment,but there will be a March on the market of cryptocurrencies dunno,and said somewhere that the minimum entry in ico of$ 20 million,so the standard there is nothing to do and will have to wait for the coins to the exchange.

Didn't telegram already deny that they were offering any sort of ico? Would they even need ico money?

In my opinion this is not yet official. If there will be a large news regarding this that will be the time telegram can be better that Facebook and Twitter.

That still just a rumor like what facebook has,there are some news that they will create their own cryptocurrency but i doubt there will be no facebook cryptocurrency as they already restrict paid ICO promotions in facebook.

There's just news about Telegram planning an ICO but no official date yet. There's also tons of scam sites pretending to sell Telegram token on ICO.

I think so. There is no official information from Telegram on their ICO project, but on many forums people deliberately launch news for fraudulent purposes. Be careful with the information you receive, please contact the Telegram management team directly to understand their project.

I've read both "leaked" whitepapers for TON and the last one is quite good.
The main purpose is platform development - not profit. Even if you'll buy a bunch of tokens for 1$ each, you'll hardly gain any profit.

There is not official announcement yet so this is to be considered just  rumour for now,it was first rumoured a month ago but until now theres no single announcement from the telegram,lets just wait for the announcement so we can be sure of it.

Yes, this is real. And there is rumors that everyone will get some coins on their telegrem account. But I think if ICO is for investors who have eveb 0.1 eth there will be no ICO. Just private pre-sale, everything for whales. And then they will sell it instant x10 on market. Rumors again, but someone says that entry value required - 20m$. For one ivestor! Thats why I think this is crypto for whales

Of course this is true, but why do you think that this is not true? Only there are a lot of very serious moments, you do not need to send your money to any groups in the telegram, because most likely it's just another fraud. Therefore, it is worth taking a closer look at this.

It's completely hearsay as long as telegram don't release an official news i don't believe on it i've seen also the news about the leak whitepaper of TON (Telegram ico)

I read about that ICO telegram will start in 2018. As far as me know tokens it will be possible to purchase at the end of 2018.

I have heard about this a while ago and have been waiting for an official announcement from the Telegram team but it seems is not forthcoming yet. I'm still waiting to know if is true. It would be worth putting some bucks for long term investment.

Well, i haven't heard that info. I'm just waiting for the officail announcement of telegram network. Beside now a days many rumors would create and scattered all over the social media perhaps it was a fake news. So be aware of that guys telegram is already it's name in the international online business site.

Although it was started as a non commercial project, telegram gained major success amoung crypto oriented society. So i won't be surprised if it does start and ico.

It looks like kinda private sale is already finished. But of course - it is only rumors.
I saw someone in Telegram invited into the pool, they are telling that they are participants in ICO and they got passed to private sale.
But I think this is scam, really. And another rumor - investors will wait till 2019 spring to see something technologically :)

Depends on what your notion this means that there it is still no, but it infa 100$ if it will not then Pavel Durov feed you to the sharks, Roman Abramovich. Since a large part of the investments that ICO belongs to him.

There are rumors that there will not be an open sale at all. Too much money they collected in a closed sale. Yes, and such a large number of scams can not but worry. But even if such a sale happens, I think it will be Armageddon. The site will lie all the time because of the number of participants.

This is a very cool coin of the future. If it comes out as planned, then I think it's worth investing in it! But I know that just so buy it will be very difficult and it's expensive.

The ICO is real. But I don't think it's going to be a good investment in short term given its large market cap even at the start. Big ICO seldom performs well in crypto world.

It should be true, but I don't like the ico of telegram, because I think that as a finished product of the centralized chat software, there is no need for ico, the big probability is to defraud the investor's money.

I do not agree with you. Almost all members or investors entering the crypto market are on telegrams looking for good ICO projects. Telegram is a very hot application and we can see it as a traditional application of the crypto market.
So Telegram ICO is good and working on that application can also attract investors. That's my opinion of your question.

Do you have any link that provides the legitimacy of telegram ICO is real? AFAIK, that telegram ICO before is not legit and there's no official announcement from the real telegram team.

Most probably it is a scam. As there are no official words from Telegram side. They have tweeted before they do not have any plan to ICO.
