Title: New to mining, a few more questions
Post by: BTC22 on January 17, 2018, 04:24:59 PM
Hey guys. I've had my rig up and running since Friday. 6 cards. 4 EVGA GTX 1080 liquid cooled, one non cooled EVGA FTW and one MSI 1070 ti. My MOBO is an ASRock H110 Pro, Intel i3 7th gen. 8 GB RAM. Windows 10 PRO. I have nothing but Google Chrome, afterburner and nicehash installed on it. My questions are:

1. Outside of Windows Defender, should I be running an anti virus software?
2. Are there any Bios Updates or tweaks for the MOBO?
3. WHat kind of tweaks can I use for the cards?

No, just make sure the firewall is on and dont surf any dodgy sites / download anything dodgy
2. Are there any Bios Updates or tweaks for the MOBO?
is the the pro or pro plus (+) ?
3. WHat kind of tweaks can I use for the cards?
stick to overclocking with afterburner, your done .

Anyone?
You have nvidia cards - there is really not much you have to do to start mining. Just add some clocks to the videocards and you are good to go.
If windows recognized all your cards you don't have to change anything else in the bios of your motherboard.

May want to check the version of BIOS you currently have against what is offered here to see if you are up to date:

If you do not use your mining rig to surf net or any other activities than mining, then you do not actually need an anti-virus including windows defender.

As said use the rig for mining only. Don’t surf or use hooky software.

Make sure to backup the hard disk once thr rig is tuned (Macrium Reflect)

Backup all wallets to external disk/usb etc.
