Hi everyone !

I'm reading this forum for a couple of days now and I decided to invest on Coinbase.
But as you BTC is dumping right now and I don't know if I should buy now, or if the dump will go on for a couple of days/weeks...

Do you have suggestions? I want to hold as much as possible but also reinvest a part of my profit (if I make some) in altcoins after.

Nobody can predict price movments, it could dip till like 8k I would say, but don't take my word for granded. Buy low and sell high - is easier said than done, when emotions kicks in specially if you are first time trader it might be hard. You can jump with altcoins from the start if you ask me anyway if you are looking to trade with altcoins I'd say you buy Ethereum because bitcoin fees are high and not many exhcanges support LN. So by using ether you can get your transaction confirm faster with lower fees and even some exchanges such as binance offer full ether pairs.

Use GDAX - this is exchange provided by coinbase. Use GDAX for lower fees and with it you can see the right market movments, live trading etc.

TBH if you ask me I'd buy straight away now since I look at long term, you can flip money becasue of markets volatility, it  is good but you could also lose some. DON'T invest more than you can afford to lose.

Buy like hell, imo, but don't put your rent money on it.

Nothing to do with the initial question but I tries to login to GDAX as you suggested and they told me to verify my account even if I already a Coinbase account.
And the passport canno't be use anymore (I used my passport to verify on Coinbase) and the only possibilities are ID and driver's licence (i don't have both haha)

If you were part of my life in the last few years, I wouldn't be living in a drainage ditch, drinking water out of a sewer, filtered only by my sock, which was donated to me by friars, and has a hole in the toe, so you know, filtering-potential lowered.

Here am I, staring at the tree-roots over my head, wearing only the refuse-sack that some kind soul allowed me to steal from their dustbin, thinking "If it wasn't for savant-like insight like this, I'd be even worse off, probably eating wood".

I also want to invest now, because of the low charts but i think it is better to wait until tommorow(just to make sure, that price stops going to the ground). The total marketcap is currently slowly raising and I think thats a good sign but you never know. By the way, as already mentioned i would buy etherium because of the high transaction fees of bitcion. Specialy if you do not invest a high ammount.  

Well, they are difficult to predict, if you don't wanna take a risk then you won't get a profit, start invest it's a discount now BIG SALE  ;D

Buy low, this is definately the time to buy in. However waiting till tomorrow is a good idea, i predict everyone is going to panic tomorrow and then is the time.

Sell high, you might be waiting a while.

What I can say is... Now is your chance to invest in low Bitcoins, if you'd like to invest... Best to attack now. I personally use P2P exchanges like Paxful.com to Purchase BTC cheaper

I unfortunately have to hold longer then I wanted to due to some BTC getting stuck last weekend before I could pitch it in a trade.  Oh well.  Look forward to the bounce back.  Wish I was more liquid at this moment.

maybe for now you can buy more btc because the price is down, but I'm not too sure if the price of btc for the future can still rise or not, because over time btc more rivals with other coin.

According to me,now will be the best time to buy bitcoin because bitcoin price dropped in good percentage in last few days.Whales are cashing out their profit and they will surely invest back in soon when the panic sellers stop feeding then the price will rise up again.If you consider to hold bitcoin long term then you can't be wrong with your decision of investing in bitcoin because we all know bitcoin price rises long term  8)

Because buying low is really hard and scary. When the world is collapsing and there is blood in the streets it's psychologically hard and counter-intuitive to be hopeful and positive about a stock. And it's usually impossible to determine when it's the top or the bottom. That would require being able to identify what is high and what is low, which is far easier said than done. Buy Low and Sell High actually means controlling your emotions and sacrificing on the short term temptations and not many cant do that !

Coinbase is an exchanger mate, you can sell or buy there
but if do you want to investment of cryptocurrency you can buy and hold it for the longterm or the shorterm

The value of crypto currencies such as bitcoin is influenced by the monetary situation of the big country right now.
The decrease of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin causes many bitcoin businesses to be on the alert. we should wait and see too.

As per me Bitcoin should touch 8.5k bottom before boosting up to 20k+. So, buying in the region of 8k to 10k will be the best thing now. Don't worry if you miss bottom by $500-1000, ultimately you will be in profit.

OP should learn some basic technical analysis IMO. Check out the site tradingview to get a look at the cryptos that you are interested in.

You should know about trend lines, moving averages, support and resistance levels.

Time durations to look at, daily charts, 4hr chart and 1 hr chart.

A bit more advanced analysis tools: Bollinger bands, Fibonacci retracements and projections. A heikin ashi overlay on the candlesticks make the trend much easier to see.

Also, experienced traders do not go all in at one time. Example: If you had 1000 to put into an asset, you may want to break that up into 4 equal parts. Invest 250 at a time depending upon price b/c you really never know where the bottom is....

I think we should have expert reference before deciding on buying or selling. Im not sure, but I thinnk it's a good time to buy now and wait some more to sell.  ::)

To  be honest  the only bad time to get in is during an all time high imo, but even then its  not that bad if you are gonna HODL. If you are going to hold your BTC for longer than 2 minutes just buy in whenever, nobody knows what the market will do. Its possible it goes to 1 dollar tomorrow (in which case i will BUY lol)

Just getin, but remember dont take loans and stuff to buy bitcoin. Be responsible about it and educate yourself as much as you can.

For me you must wait and be patient and not buy nown you must to wait the price of bitcoin be lower than 10000$

It's hard to predict what's the movements of price,  now the price of bitcoin is lower than December.
For now I think you should buy now and hold it. The price of bitcoin will be up again.

Wait for some time and watch the coinmarket close, buy when it was at sky bottom and then buy.

Sometimes exchange coins (ike KuCoin, Binance or COSS) are giving opps to "buy low sell high" strategies. In the time of dividends sharing, their prices go up and after a while, their prices go down. But this is also risky and no gurantee for solid proftis. Maybe you can try with small amounts

I told everyone to buy yesterday, I also recommend to buy today because coins will keep raising until they reach new records. All cryptos grew like a 30% or more yesterday and probably they will grow a 100% in the next week or 2 weeks, so invest now and you will earn easy money. Also check some privacy coins because these coins will grow even more. Good luck!

If we wait is there really a possibility that the price of the coin will increase?
