Title: Signatures & preview [Chrome and firefox]
Post by: hugeblack on January 17, 2018, 09:42:21 PM
Why signatures [From different designers] look different between Chrome and Firefox.

Examples
1) chrome.  2) Firefox.

Topics also look different when previewed and posted (Especially with images)

It's due to the fact that BBCode signatures aren't cross-compatible among different browsers (not just Chrome and Firefox). Each browser tends to show a slightly different result from one another (due to different parameters and etc...).

these parameters must be same in Chromium Based Browsers, right?
why I get very different results in Opera, UC and etc....

also, why Topics styles look different when previewed than posted?

You should ask it from the developers of these third party browsers (did some research but couldn't find anything and since each of these browsers have different features of their own, then most likely the parameters are different too).

The only difference that I notice is, when you preview images that don't have their appropriate links in comparison to those that have, it's shown normally but upon posting the thread, those images that don't have links, tend to be off a little (either higher/lower or pushed in right and left directions).
There were few threads in regards to this issue, couldn't find it though (will link it here, in case I'll find it)...

Did you experience something else in regards to threads behavior prior and after it's created?

basically with width.
I can’t find an example to illustrate my question but you can use this code as an example.
Code:
[table][tr][td]Image here[/td][td]image here[/td][/tr][/table]
when previewing it, will find two images on the same line.

example of previewing signature:
signature on threads https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2378603.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2378603.0)
click quote then preview
check it on threads and after previewing

Just want to make my voice heard in the matter.

Even when I designed I faced the same issue especially when large amount of ascii art is being displayed on signatures.

Now, for my LocalEthereum campaign (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5176535.0) I hired a designer to do the job due to lack of time, I am again facing the same issue. I don't use Chrome but now that I signed on to BTT with a chrome after ages, I see the same problem with every signatures.

Is there no solution to this?
