Title: Purchase Price Error
Post by: robotdreaming on January 17, 2018, 10:18:01 PM
I've had an error in one of my BTC transactions.

I've had ZERO luck contacting Bitcoin Support to rectify the issue.

On December 07, 2017 10:25 AM - I made a $2,000 purchase of BTC @ or around a price of $15,800 per BTC.

I was charged $18,669.09 per BTC.

I realize the fluctuating nature of the purchase process AND that it takes a little while to transact confirmation, However - The price for BTC never reached $18k the entire day or for several days after.

So, I don't see how I was charged a much higher amount than the selling price.

Thanks for any help.

(PS - How does one upload an image? I wanted to show a screenshot.)

I hope you don't think that Bitcoin is a company or something like that. It is a technology, like Internet.

What exchange were you using to buy your bitcoins? This issue is completely up to them and has nothing to do with the technology.
You need to contact their support and tell everyone here what website that is so no one uses them in future.

There is no “Bitcoin Support”. That is like saying I contacted “TV Support” or “Internet Support.”   What exchange did you use? Their support are the only ones who can help you.

Yes, I apologize for the confusing ask.

I did mean Coinbase not Bitcoin support.

I was just hoping someone in here has dealt with similar or had some advice on HOW to reach Coinbase.

I've tried multiple times and it seems they've decided not to support their community.

So, I guess this has changed from an ask to a WARNING.

Thanks

That's weird since there's a huge difference in price. Anyway, only support could give you an accurate answer about the matter. Try reaching out on their support's twitter page @CoinbaseSupport (https://twitter.com/CoinbaseSupport), either DM or tweet (just don't tweet any personal data). As far as I can see they are actively answering queries there so good luck.

I would tend to ask about that bitcoin stuff which they don't really have support but reading up above it shows you are mentioning about coinbase exchange. Links have been given above for contacting them. The thing I do see here that its little bit shady that they would credit you on the bitcoin which is basing on a higher price which isn't really right at all. Sudden jump of price cant be seen on a short span of time. $15k-18k which is really shady.
