Title: Who here can teach me via skype setting up any pushpool at what cost in LTC?
Post by: cryptohunter on August 19, 2013, 06:03:29 PM
hi,

I want to learn how to be able to set up a linux server with a push pool. I need to know how to be able to do this for any of the alt scrpyt coins that are out there.  I see there is some standard script out there that most people use i just need to know how to set this up to that it is fully working including auto payouts from scratch - imagine a server with nothing on except the operating system.

1. Cost of helping me learn how to do this in LTC

2. Server specs

what is more important?  cpu, ram, ssd drives ?  centos , ubuntu  , cpanel ? webmin?

What spec should the server have to say handle 1GH/s hash on a given scrypt coin?

Is server location important?

Anything else to watch for?

Really want to have someone whom has set plenty of these up themselves are are well known on the board.

Please pm me or quote price in total on here. I will then contact you and get the ball rolling.
thanks.

My experience with linux is 'not much' i have just about managed to set up webmin and get a domain working on a linux server, other than that i am a total novice, so please keep this in mind.

--------

One last question, not part of the task above.

Is it possible to build a cpu only coin (very difficult to get gpu mining working as with quark) that can be run on a push pool like the scrypt coins??  Pools for cpu coins seem to require individual and specialised pool set ups? why is this? I remember someone saying with yac that although gpu mining was possible in the mid term that because of the way the coin was designed that after a certain date gpu mining would no longer be more beneficial than cpu mining? what did they mean?
