Not a long time ago when Bitcoin reached $10,000, it was a huge celebration.Yesterday when Bitcoin was at $10,000, it was like the end of the world, I've read all kind of stuff - "bubble, scam, fraud, THE END, Melt Down...........

My prediction is $100,000 by the end of the year. $40,000 will be beaten easily, maybe even in the first half of the year.

I mean, isn't it an obvious reaction? When we reached 10k bitcoin was in a super uptrend never seen before, people made tons of money. Now, after reaching 20k bitcoin dip'd until 9k yesterday, thats less than half of what we had a month ago, obviously people panic, because most of them though that it would all be sunchine and rainbows... This happened in the past it's just a cycle, everything seems to be getting better now, at least now they stopped spamming FUD topics

Good thing to know. I must admit I was a bit worried. Altho it is aiming a bit too high for me. Bitcoin soaring to the that high of an amount seems crazy and may put doubt on the coin's stability.

I think that projection is too high.  We could all hope it will be at $40,000 but I myself will be happy if it will go back to $20,000 by mid 2018.  With the recent dip, I bought bitcoin as much as I can and with the $20,000 value that's already a good profit.

He might have seed some articles that says bitcoin will be 100k USD in the future and then he claimed that it was his prediction lol. Well, We can predict and assume any price we want but it will be more credible if you will show a graph analysis or a basis that will support your statement.

and that is about right, cause that would be natural growth from $4000 in summer, but not that crazy speculative $20000 in the end of 2017

It has just recovered from a terrible correction. Expecting anything from it as of yet will be like expecting a just injured to climb the Everest. 40k is surely due this year but you will need to wait a few months before btc begins its bullish run.

Hello. I do not think it will reach $ 40,000 at the end of the year and in no case $ 100,000. I think the bitcoin will get somewhere around $ 18,000, I do not think this year will be better than last year

It is not hard for bitcoin price to reach 40.000$ by the end of 2018 because last year we saw it going from 5000 to 20.000 wich is a x4 profit and the same thing would have to happen this year.

The problem of bitcoin is that blocks are limited at ,1MB in size and transactions volume is quickly increasing. Thats why an upgrade for bitcoin will occur in 2018 wich is lightning network. What this will do is that will allow transactions to be confirmed faster at a much lower fee. I think this is going to help the price a lot because many people are not making transactions because of the fees.

I find reasonable the predictions that we'll see Bitcoin hit the 1 trillion USD market cap milestone within this year, which would mean around 60k USD per BTC. Once it becomes that big, expect more crackdown from governments afraid of losing their grip on the monetary supply.

By the end of the year for sure it could easily hit 40k and my personal opinion is that Bitcoin will hit roughly or close to 75k. Personally then I think 40k will be attained sometime in September or October but I am quite bullish on Bitcoin because of Lightning Network. Perhaps LN doesn't effect how I think it will, but if does effect how I think it will I think 75k is achievable all day everyday.

I could easily see it getting to 40,000 as well. It is becoming more and more well known. With it being more well known more people will see its potential and want to buy in.

We need more to predict what is going to happen tomorrow or in february rather than end of 2018  :) It could reach $40.000 but it is hard to wait for that.

I think that in 2018 we will not see the cost of bitcoin 40,000. Well, if its price rises at least to 20,000.

How big is this Lightning Network influence on the market? We can't really tell because is not yet implemented. But I'm skeptics at first with LN but if this is one of the best solution out there then so be it. They should roll it out so that we can see bitcoin price mooning again just like it did in mid December.

But first let's see if this rally could take us to $20K. We all know that after a big crash, bitcoin could soar and will surpass its previous ATH. And since it has recovered from the crash, I do hope that $20K is the next target and then we need another set of predictions as to where it will be at the end of the year.

Probably the price fall of the last two days were the result of Korean and Chinese announcements that they will ban cryptocurrencies. Now it seems as the Korean was just a a false alarm in order to create panic, so someone could profit from the low price. Now bitcoin is going up again, but the Chinese plan to ban cryptocurrency could be a serious problem. It will be hard to reach 40K if more countries plan to forbid cryptocurrencies.

Here we go again even when the price has not even recovered to the point it reached in December not even the one of last week before the crash of yesterday we are talking about $40,000 and a lot of thread came yesterday if this is the end of bitcoin, whether bitcoin price will crash to $4000,  bitcoin is now dead among other ridiculous threads.

Discussions needs to start going points like this where people just react as if they are new into bitcoin as the volatility is a normal thing that would happen. It crashed, it would rise, it rise, it will still crash an emblem that we should carry as we face every new day.

OP didn't said right now but at the end of the year. We're just starting 2018 there's still 11 months left to reach that kind of price point. Last month we already saw how fast bitcoin could rise in a short period of time it can be done again but there's no gurantee when we'll hit the exact price.

If other countries would also ban bitcoin then we might not see the price hitting $40,000.

The fact is that Bitcoin is currently having difficulties with the price increase at this moment. Let's assume that in the future, its market value will be more expensive but I am not really sure that it will reach 40000 USD before this year end. Maybe more time is needed let's say two years because it will be surely a huge leap for its value which is currently 12000 USD.

To talk about this price, it is worth to see what the situation will be at the end of January. My opinion is that bitcoin should still go down, and then there will already be a clear trend to increase.

At the beginning of 2017 was 800$ or 900$ which was later reaches near 20,000$, I do not seem to have 40000$. Whether one million $ reaches !! !! its my point of view, not prediction!!

The difficulty or resistance has just begun and probably will continue, as people are entering and knowing more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency they are becoming constraint. Though I am not sure, probably nobody is, but I think $40000 is quite a great and huge value to reach, so probably its tough or becoming not possible within a year as people have started to getting knowledge and hearing tips, predictions and warning which is been given throughout the world by top peoples.

We can't really say. A lot of buzz has been created nowadays stating Bitcoin as a bubble. Even central authorities have a keen eye on it, so 2018 will be a very crucial year for bitcoin fate. However year start is not so good till now, because of FUD created in South Korea for its ban, but hope that BTC will definately touch $40k till 2018 end.

I am really confused right now at the so many prediction going on. A lot lot of people are going about with their so different kind of prediction.
I still think we need to chill out and take it easy for now.

Cryptocurrency is sort of hard to get a fix price for, one time it has a high price, the next time it has a low price. What I know for sure is that the price will pump but I'm unsure of the actually price.

I don't think that bitcoin will reach 40k at the end of the year. The price isn't growing as fast as at the end of last year. Price within 20-25k $ I think it would be good for me.

You don't need to worry at all. Those people who keeps spreading false news about bitcoin is simply creating a panic amongst investors to make them sell their stash. That's how they operate. They want people to dump so that they can buy and accumulate more. So you shouldn't listen and don't be affected by those paid schills, always remember that. And people celebrating when bitcoin goes up as those new to the market, they are happy to see their portfolio growing, but disappointment sets up, so they sell because they don't like to lose and they listen to the FUD around. Don't be that kind of noob, just stay calm during price correction, and just hold and I'm sure that it will go on our favor long term.

We are no worries regarding with the price of crypto currency, because dropping down of bitcoin price is not permanently so there is also possible to raised up. I think this fall down of bitcoin were due to unexpected problem they were encountered. But I believe that in the future bitcoin value touches the $40000 or $100000 if necessary.

Everything is possible within a year but my thought about this is a little different because i am looking on the charts and it seems that this speculative price is not making sense. Let's just say everything has changed including the miners pay, transaction fees, demand and supply, segwit2x, and forks perhaps i would believe his statement but i think it doesn't make sense when he said that it will reach $40k by the end of this year.

BTC price heading towards $40k is not impossible to happen within this year. Although, there could be more dips along the way like what we're currently experiencing, for the long term, BTC is unstoppable and once the Lightning Network has been implemented, the price will rise to the moon. We just have to expect the worst, and hope for the best.

of course all possible. but seeing the current price is really down, makes me feel that to reach that price takes some considerable time. the core of this problem is just patience, the more patience you have, the more profit you can get.

That is how we are as humans. We are always busy looking for the next target while we end up forgetting where we were coming from. So many times in 2017 that bitcoin tested new highs and just a little correction which shows good health for bitcoin, a lot of people are panicking and some are already declaring bitcoin dead. I guess those are just some of the things we have to keep coping with.

If you know what Bitcoin is capable of, how tiny the current adoption level is, you'll understand that current price levels are nothing more than peanuts. Short term fluctuations are common, and have been here for years, so there is nothing to worry about, and especially not when you are just a long term holder. Why do you think that people have been holding for such a long period of time? There are people having held their 2011 coins firmly all the way till today. It's understanding of Bitcoin and pure dedication. Goal is the long term, and not just some lousy quick profits the majority of the people here are chasing after.

Yes this prediction will come in this year. Because demand and supply bitcoin still high. So this year will shine for bitcoin.

We all hope all this happens on a bitcoin heading on $40 k figures even more at the end of this year but things should be based with graphics movement bitcoin increasing so that this will happen with the bitcoin movements sometimes down and up, but I'm sure it will be growing up bitcoin towards a future better later

About a year ago, the price per Bitcoin was around $1000 or maybe even less. A 10 fold increase in a year is a huge gain. Even with this crash, Bitcoin has done very well in 2017. Bitcoin will eventually get to $40,000 in my opinion but it could be a few years. We need to be patient because the market is very volatile.

Lol, look at the coinmarketcap front page right now. Do you think that it resembles anything like "bubble, scam, fraud, the end, or melt down"? It may have, in inexperienced traders eyes. But in experienced bitcoiners' eyes, it's simply fluctuation in the short term. It means nothing of importance and eventually, it will recover. Even the 2013 "bubble" turned out to be a heck of time to buy.

I'm not saying that $40k this year isn't possible, i just think that price will most likely settle at a lower level. $40000 may be eclipsed, but i foresee the price settling at $20k or so, after a pump takes us to a new ATH.

It's our money and we'll deal with it, it's none of their business. It's my personal target for which I'm saving coins to sell at. Those who were crying watching Bitcoins back at 10k are the ones who might have bought in at ATH or in between 10-20k. Whatsoever, they should know that patience is needed here, nothing comes for free and that they should hold.

To those who are telling these stuffs for sure didn't invested to bitcoin when it was around $1,000 so basically they are disappointed with what they are seeing their eyes, it's either they invested when it was around $15,000 - $19,000 or they really want to push us - holders who are just sitting back and relaxing trying to stay away from seeing bitcoin's current price to sell. People who are spreading FUD with such words doesn't help to the holders but they are helping themselves to buy at dip or they really are just pleased to see weak hands selling.

Good predicted expert in my country Anwar kuro also said this year BTC will reach 30K very easy to say,its also a form of encouraging young people in my country so as to take a little seat BTC to be saved.He also said BTC in 2019 will rise up to 50K everybody trust him he is great.

I think Bitcoin support is strong at $9000-$10.000, it would be hard to reach lower soon... Especially after a solid recovery like the one happening at this moment. It's already at $13.000 again, with good chances to keep rising. I don't know if BTC will hit $40.000 so fast, I couldn't even imagine a reason to boost the price to that number now, but it will surely keep rising. No, in fact none of those countries banned bitcoin. You should read the real news instead of just the headlines. There were many rumours of such things but nothing has come to be just yet. The price is recovering because people have started to do exactly that and the panic is decreasing, or alternatively the main panickers have already sold and left the market.

I still strongly believe that the value of bitcoin can easily cross 40k this year and it will be like cakewalk target for bitcoin and as we have noticed bitcoin is getting back in track with the recent improvement it has shown after the all time highest dump. In fact 40k will be like a cakewalk target for bitcoin.

It can easily march to 40k given what we have seen at the end of last year but I would remind ourselves that 10k is 10k regardless of how it got there. Well, in my opinion bitcoin might reach $40000 by the end of this year. Bitcoin is unpredictable because of it's volatility. I have positive thinking that $40000 may reach easily.

I don't personally believe that Bitcoin will be able to reach that height of  $70,000 before end of December this year. Not quite long we experienced serious correction in the value of Bitcoin and some other altcoins as a result of the bad nice from North Korea on tje banning of the big crypto currency exchange company.

Main point of importance is that there is no need for the price to reach these levels in such a short period of time, and especially not without lightning network. People have been so spoiled last year with a near 20x increase at peak, that they expect it to stretch out all the way till this year, and that won't be the case. I definitely believe that we'll see the price go up from here maybe till $25-$30k this year, but we do need a major boost in form of lightning network or other institutions opening future markets, or even an ETF. Also, it's not North Korea that was going to ban crypto exchanges if we had to believe all fud articles, but South Korea. :)

No one pursues you to believe that it will be at that level what's good here is it's up to you if you'll take those speculations positively or not. You can also make your own speculation and technical analysis base on the roller coaster chart of bitcoin. But these people who are giving their ideas for free are sometimes questionable, they want to speak publicly to make a good attraction about bitcoin but that will benefit each and everyone of us. I want to see it heading $40,000.

The price of forty thousand is a very huge valuation and it is impossible to see another rally this year,i am not expecting that the rally to continue all the time and this time will be an exception as there are many regulations being expected to come in the crypto currency market.

Since the crypto market is volatile we dont know yet the price would be at the end of this year. There is always the possibility to make it happen, yet for now many news that btc price couldnt go higher. But, since the demand is increasing in this crypto market can be hit at that price in time.

They are approaching the near of their 21 million cap. Hopefully that will create a higher demand so it might be possible to see at least the highs we had in December 2017.

I expect bitcoin to also going up any moment from now as it breaks above $11,000 during the USA market sections. I read many comments on twitter that USA traders are behind the dump of bitcoin and others cryptocurrency price for the past three days but today gain happened during the   USA sections and that is a good sign that bitcoin is about to seriously going up.

Unconfirmed transaction for long time is indeed annoying and has big impact on bitcoin growth lately.
A lot of people even prefer to not using bitcoin anymore because of that reason , at least for now until everything get solved.
It makes us a little bit pessimistic it could grow better and with higher price than before.

For Bitcoin to reach $40,000 it will take a long time because the current market fluctuations which was as a result of the ban of some crypto currency exchange company in North Korea. And the is another speculation that United State of America may come up strong with negative news about Bitcoin and crypto currency in general.

Personally I do not think that this price can be reached so soon, because the great whales do not seem interested in letting the reins go to bitcoin to continue its natural process of growth. But I hope that by the end of the year we can see a price of that magnitude.

We can't predict future, but we can hope for much higher price then 40.000$ and most od us hope for that. I think even 100.000$ sounds reasonable, bitcoin didn't see touch top there are so many things that can happen in future that can push price up to some new ath-s. I think that the most important thing is that bitcoin is going up all this years, and I think of will continue to go up, some tomes slowly sometimes fast, but it is a good way to top.

i think bitcoin has  only one way .that is up. always up. no matter how low it will go right now ,but eventally it will go up again .

Well few people believed that bitcoin cam reach 20k by 2017 and it did. One thing with crypto is you can never say never. Prices can boom to record highs very quick, or crash in a finger snap. I'm not saying btc won't hit 40k this year because anything is possible in crypto

let's hope for the best this year. if by 2017 bitcoin is able to reach a price of nearly $ 20k, we should be optimistic and think that bitcoin price this year will reach $ 40k. Optimistic nature is the nature of a bitcoiners, right?
