Title: Armory no worky... Post by: P_Shep on August 20, 2013, 11:24:16 AM Just launched Armory, said there was a new version... so downloaded an installed 0.88.1, launched it and... nothing.
It'll start, run for a few seconds, then quits. No window, splash, pop-ups, nothing. Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: superresistant on August 20, 2013, 11:26:47 AM Armory require tons or RAM
Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: P_Shep on August 21, 2013, 12:04:03 PM I have 16GB of RAM, of which 10GB is free.
Would have thought that would be enough. Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: superresistant on August 22, 2013, 02:48:34 PM I have 16GB of RAM, of which 10GB is free. Would have thought that would be enough. I think 16GB is not enough, that's why it crashes. The developer is trying to fix this, just wait. Title: Re: Armory no worky... The developer is trying to fix this, just wait. I run it just fine with 8GB. Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: payb.tc on August 22, 2013, 04:15:38 PM 12GB here and *sometimes* it crashes
usually depending on how many million chrome tabs i have open and how many months it's been since i rebooted windows Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: SimonBelmond on August 22, 2013, 06:16:35 PM For me it even still works with 4 gb. I just have to end all other services.
Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: opentoe on August 23, 2013, 11:43:01 PM Armory require tons or RAM I'll second that. This little program uses a ton of resources for some reason. I really do like it, but when it takes me a couple of days just to get it up and running starts to make me think of alternatives. I did think there would have been a newer/updated version by now but nothing yet. Title: Re: Armory no worky... I did think there would have been a newer/updated version by now but nothing yet. Be patient. We are close. Armory is the safest wallet for normal users. I think you will not regret it if you try Armory again after the update to come. Title: Re: Armory no worky... It'll start, run for a few seconds, then quits. No window, splash, pop-ups, nothing. You are running it on Mac OS X? Or Windows? You mention you had it running before, so it's Windows? If it's Mac OS X: Try launching it direct from an xterm: imac: $ cd /Applications/Armory.app/Contents/MacOS imac: MacOS$ ./Armory ./Armory: line 5: 41124 Segmentation fault: 11 bin/python armorybuild/ArmoryQt.pyc Darwin imac.internal.com 11.4.2 Darwin Kernel Version 11.4.2: Thu Aug 23 16:25:48 PDT 2012; root:xnu-1699.32.7~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64 Mac OS X Version 10.7.5 on a 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 32 GB RAM It's a known problem. No solution as far as I know If it's Windows: I guess you could the equivalent from a cmd shell and note the error message Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: P_Shep on September 16, 2013, 10:41:52 PM Windows 8. Yep, used to work.
Just tried the cmd line... absolutely nothing reported. Title: Re: Armory no worky... Post by: P_Shep on September 16, 2013, 10:44:59 PM Found something in the system log, I highly doubt it's useful though:
