Title: Is this normal?
Post by: revv on January 19, 2018, 08:04:38 AM
I am pretty new to the crypto world so I was wondering is this normal? It still doesn't have one confirmation and it's been a while, I exchanged BTC for some ETH on the Blockchain online wallet and seem that have received them.

Also I assume that "ShapeShift" is a trading exchange?

Yes they'd recognized that there is an incoming transaction to your deposit address but for it to be considered valid, it should have a certain number of confirmations. According to shapeshift's site, Large transactions require at least 1 confirmation and from your picture, yours is unconfirmed = 0 confirmation

Transaction's confirmation time varies on it's included fee, for instance if you have included a high miner fee = faster confirmation time.

Can you post the actual Transaction hash?

Your bitcoin transaction is not confirmed so it make sense that you have to wait. In the other hand, you have an Ethereum transaction which is confirmed so why did they send the ETH If the BTC transaction is not confirmed yet? Is 0xdb033622a6117a4b7a7906bb2595561b9e9c18c0 your ETHER address?

EDIT: As I guessed, your transaction is confirmed and you can check in other blockexplorers (https://btc.com/9aecf74e25af88919d7c658efecd3b40a08b75901daa969bfa34ad8dc68dd1e0). The problem is coming from Blockchain.info and this issue has been reported multiple times in the last few days. I suggest waiting a few hours, everything should be solved then.

You paid a good fee here so what you need to do is just wait a little bit, it will be confirmed soon.

You created the same thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2776042.0
And if you have already gathered proper answers, you should close the other one and stick to this thread.

It has been a while now and it still shows that the transaction has no confirmations yet... weird?

I was shocked that it is still pending for a week. I have checked the tx which it do have sufficient amount of fee

Fees   0.0011074 BTC
Fee per byte   585.926 sat/B

This shouldnt really took so long and you would really get confirmation for an hour or more but not would lapse on 24 hours no matter how congested is the network.
You can actually push that tx on accelerators but im not sure if they are really working or not.

Sincerely, this is more than the ordinary because even those transactions that happen after yours have confirmed and you paid a decent fee for it. I did one yesterday and paid less than 50sat/byte and it still confirms within the hour. I suggest you try ViaBTC and rebroadcast rather than accelerating it because to me acceleration is if you pay a low fee which in this case is not.
