12/20/13 UPDATE: Due to some gray areas in current US legislation, f*D is making the following changes until further notice.
- Payment is only accepted via PayPal through the website
- Loading of crypto to the proofs must be done by the customer (I suggest keeping the transaction detail as a printout inside the custom leatherette once the proofs are loaded
- Pricing has been adjusted on the website to align with the new policies and also I have added some end of the year bulk purchase discount pricing
- All reservations not yet paid for are being made available to the public

I can't believe anyone would pay $120 for a $24 piece of silver. I know it cost you some extra money to get them pressed, but that's crazy.

I want to agree, I paid much more than that for my 1oz. Lealana though :(.

I'd be in for one of these at .5BTC + 11 XPMs if you don't sell them all and price comes down a bit let me know.

I should be able to bring down the price point on subsequent batches if we get to that point, but certainly not to that level. I was hoping to get them to 1 btc per with xpm included. Of course if btc goes back to $260, you hav a deal!

I presume you are not a coin collector based off of this comment. I have seen 1 ounce gold coins appraised at $20k +. Hope you were seated when you read this, lol.

The difference is that this is not a collectable coin. At the time they were minted, those same coins you are talking about were sold at appropriate value. It's not right to start out selling a coin so far marked up because someday it might be valuable beyond it's value in silver. Even pandas, where we know the price is going to be over $100 in 5-10 years time are sold at a reasonable price now.

Could you show a picture of a finished coin with the public address/first bits showing?

Or do these coins not have the public address printed on the security label?

Each priv key is generated and printed and then hidden behind the security sticker. None of the digits will be showing. The attached Certificate of Authenticity will include the wallet address so receiver can confirm the transfer of XPM to the address via the block chain. I hope this answers your question.

I have had a couple inquiries asking about bulk discounts. Unfortunately, as this is a limited batch and only 50 exist, I cannot do much regarding discounting with the 50 coins from "batch 1" - of which 13 are already sold. When all of batch one has been sold, I will give thought to creating batch 2 - a subsequent batch will allow me to bring the price point down for bulk buys as some of the overhead costs associated with batch 1 will not be necessary for batch 2. That having been said, I have decided to offer a 10% discount and free US shipping for the purchase of 10 coins. That makes the total cost with shipping 11.25 btc.

Am I missing something or are you charging about $65 for 3-5 day express mail? Also, how is a 1 Day Express Mail cheaper than 3-5 Day Express Mail?

Yes, you are missing something, lol. I apologize for the confusion, but it seems you have the old shipping pricing list. It has been edited to the following on the OP:

-   Continental US:
o   1 Day Express Mail = 0.3 BTC
o   2 Day Priority Mail = 0.1 BTC
-   International:
o   Registered Mail = 0.3 BTC

The reason you were seeing 3-5 day express as more expensive than 1 day express is that the 3-5 day version was for international shipments; the 1 day was for US to US shipments. As it turns out I was misled by USPS regarding international shipping, hence the edit. I was at first told that the only way to ship inter national with insurance and tracking was via International Express 3-5 day service (very expensive). On a subsequent shipment I learned that it is forbidden to ship metals via express international and the only way USPS will do it is by Registered Mail service. This service takes about 10 days, but is a little cheaper - while still being insured and trackable. Also the package travels under lock and key and each time it changes hands it has to be signed for. Very secure and safe. The postal worker told me that the Hope Diamond had actually been shipped using this service! Pretty cool little postal history fact I thought. Hope this helps to clear it up. Again, sorry for the confusion - I just learned these things myself.

I have 24 coins left from the inaugural batch of 50 presently. Once the first batch sells out, I would be willing to run a second batch, if the demand is there, from which I would be able to provide bulk discounts, but it would be labelled as "Batch 2". I believe that the first batch will appreciate more than the subsequent ones over the long term. That being said, some very good things have been happening with Primecoin lately and it continues to grow in popularity and success. This in conjunction with its unique attributes certainly seems an excellent recipe for collectability.

Why can't someone show their support for a coin? You could say the same about Physical LiteCoins or even Physical BitCoins.
I never used PrimeCoin, nor do I intend too, but this coin (and the casing) looks awesome.

If you made a casing like that for BitCoin I would buy one for my Silver 5 Year Anniversary Quarter BitCoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=269535.msg3139398#msg3139398) (Picture (https://i.imgur.com/pZLi9q7h.jpg), ignore the bad quality and the badges :P). They were only made for 1 month, so they are a very nice item to collect. I now have it inside a Dragon Skull, but it would look a lot better in a casing like that.
