Title: D3 hardware errors - time to send it back? Post by: ecocurrency on January 19, 2018, 03:52:13 PM One of my Antminer D3's generates a ton of hardware errors. For example, right now its running at 19.4 GH/s, with 2,959 accepted and 71,957 hardware errors (over a 17 hour period). When I log directly into the machine I've got all "o's" and no "x's". Plus, I've updated to the latest bit main firmware and still have these issues. Is it time to send this back and try and get bitumen to repair it? Is it really hurting my performance that much, or is it just an annoyance?

If you are using APW 3++ bitmain psu from 110/120volts, then that can be a problem for sure , as that psu is max rated 1200watts from 110/120 volts , your 19.5GH/s D3 can pull more than that during mining. I have the same problem with one of my D3 , as I ran out from 240 volts outlet in my mining room , i used one of my D3 19.+GH/s from a regular 110/120 volts outlet with APW3++. It resulted a lot of random reboots and a lot of hardware errors. As soon as i installed more 220/240 volts outlets and plugged the psu there , everything worked fine . What exactly is the problem if it is functioning as intended?
P.S. Bitmain will not warranty it if the machine is hashing as expected. You will just be wasting your money on shipping. |
