Title: [DGC] $30,000 Investment Acquired
Post by: baritus on August 21, 2013, 02:42:00 PM
Hello,

I've finalized a deal with a small group of investors for $30,000. The funding will be used mostly for marketing efforts (including a possible TV/radio ad). A part of those funds, about $10,000, will be kept as reserves for the exchange until the exchange builds up its own reserve.

Thanks.

Thats more excellent news Baritus. We need more exposure and if everyone pitches in we have a better chance of success. Having this kind of backing and having the exchange up and running will give us a great foothold to take the next step up.

Hope everyone who believes in dgc/arg/src gets on board and does whatever they can to help bring the dreams to reality!

lol, you can announce any good news as you like, the fact is, that the Goldcoin's market cap just passed DGC, and DGC's market cap is less than half of that of IFC (or more precisely a little more than 1/3 - 36% of IFC). Go figure.

Because that's his usual tactic when price reach this level. Not his only tbh, other devs do it too but he is one of pioneers.

Is it known what country this exchange is based?

Who holds the fiat?  Is there a fee for merchants?  Are there any user fees?

The exchange holds the fiat. The merchant/user fees as well as other financial details will be posted when finalized.

The servers will be located in Panama and as posted in the earlier thread, all payment processing is through third party processors.

Great news for the community. What does it mean in practice?

It means there will be much more funding to invest in raising awareness through advertising.

I always announce ahead of time so the community(which own this coin together) know what is going on with their holdings. Are you seriously suggesting you prefer I keep every stakeholder in the dark? That's moronic.

Translation of the OP:

Spoken like a clueless idiot. If he makes it rich good on him for all his hard work, alot of other people will do well too if this all takes off. Maybe he also gets satisfaction in helping to change the Crypto landscape and bring a new way of buying/selling goods and services to the wider community via digital currency.

The fact is he could have taken off many times with all the dgc funds if he wanted to but hasn't. Instead he has already started numerous services like dgcmarket, digiclick and the digitalcoin website/forums and has been heavily in development for months as we know with this new exchange. It should show people how committed he is to seeing dgc succeed.

Can't wait to see how all this pans out over the coming months. Exciting times ahead!

Good news about the $30000 investment acquired.

Thank you for posting and letting us all know about it.

Traders and investors like to know about these kinds of things.

current price x total number of coins to be made = market cap

Therefore Goldcoin did not surpass Digitalcoin at all in market cap. Not even close.

How many coins are going to be made for DGC? 200,000,000

Whereas Goldcoin is having somewhere around 100-120 million.

Goldcoins price per coin was much lower than DGC, and the total number of coins to be made is less as well, so there is absolutely no way  that Goldcoin came even close to DGC market cap.

I do not know what you call the similar calculation in regards to the total number of coins currently in circulation.

current price X total number of coins currently in circulation  =  (not the market cap) (don't know what this might be called)

compared to:

current price X total number of coins to be created = MARKET CAP

That is what i think.

Market cap is based on the number of coins in circulation, not the estimated total future supply.
