A few people pointed out different ways people could break it (X-ray, other types of scans, etc). But the sentiment was that nobody would go through so much trouble for 5 bucks and they were meant more as a novelty and not a medium of exchange.

I think the consensus is that Casacius Bitcoins are not really intended to be used as a secure method of storing bitcoin. They are more of a "cool" novelty-type item.
Apparently, changes have been made to the process to make them more secure. Do a search and you will find more on the topic. Again, I don't think Casacius was ever intended to be used as a secure storage method. Title: Re: Casacius Physical Bitcoins Vulnerable?
