Title: Yobit hacked?
Post by: NitroCaputro on January 20, 2018, 03:04:15 PM
I signed up with Yobit.net to purchase a specific coin DCR since other exchange website were not accepting new members. I bought about $8K in DCR a week ago. Yesterday some one hacked into my account, sold all my coin for BTC and emptied my account. Is there a way to recover them? I sent Yobit support several messages with no reply  ??? Very frustrating and upsetting. Please advise. Regards

They usually dont answer fast. Lots of people saying about very bad support. Do you have 2 FA on your account?

Are you using a weak password or are you using the same password for several sites? You have maybe joined a shit site that has been hacked or something like that. Because it's surely the reason rather than Yobit hacked. If it was the case, it would be all over the news already.

Yobit support is horrible

Really sad hear about it.
You must need to use very hard password, and it must be unique to logins where you store moneys.
Always enable sms via mobile phone authentication if its enable

You've picked the worst exchange in the world.
This forum is full of people having problems with it, with wrong balances, not credited coins, weird orders, hacked accounts, terrible support ...this exchange would be better if it were indeed hacked.

You are going to hear from support in a few days or maybe even a week as they are understaffed.
And if your weren't using 2FA probably they will just blame you for this and you can kiss those coins goodbye.

Oh really sad to hear your problem. By the way didn't you activate the 2FA for your account.
If not there was the issue with your side because why we/exchangers are always recommend to active the 2FA. If you already activated the 2FA then there should be a problem with the exchanger.

Hope you will get a good news from the CS.

is this true? I am already a member of yobit. I got some free coins at first but then, after sometime, they just stopped giving free coins. I don't know why, but now I already stopped waiting for it's return.

Yobit has been known to be a shitty exchange with little to no support. But if i was you i would keep trying , and people stop using yobit there are much better options. I hope you get your money back.

Its not Yobit issue the way I see it. And I just checked their official twitter account, I haven't seen any announcement about hack or something.

https://twitter.com/YobitExchange

Maybe you just went to a phishing site or used a weak password or you used the same password of all your social media accounts and the hackers was able to get a hold of your password and used it in Yobit to withdraw your money.

I don't know, but I already stay away from Yobit before the support is very slow and it is one of the worst trading platform based on my experience. But there's no harm in trying.

Damn, sorry to hear that man, but sad to say, there really isn't anything you can do about this. Clearly, you haven't thought this through well enough. Before putting a lot of investment you have to at least do the effort of looking for feedbacks from other people who (are) using/used the exchange that you have put your eyes on. Because if you did, you sure wouldn't be using that exchange since a lot of people already have shared various horrific experiences using this exchange.
This is a lesson for you. Hope you learn from it.

WOW I am an old user of YoBit and I have heard totally different opinions about it. Their support really do not reply for long, I have not replied tickets from the last year and I am still waiting. I have heard that they plan o solve the problem with support by hiring new workers.

Too bad to hear that, I really don't use Yobit but from what I heard, yobit is one trusted trading website. and never heard of any news that yobit have been hack.
anyways,

I think your account is hack by means of fishing or registering to a scam website with the same password and username,

to avoid this kind of thing, try to create a different password for every website you sign up in, or use a google authenticator for your own safety.

This will be a hard lesson for you.

To get your funds back it can not, because your funds have been stolen, you should install security 2FA, it is often the case in yobit, because security yobit less support and danger to invest there, be more careful in a

First thing before I send big amounts on some exchange I set up the 2FA and hard password is a must. If exchange doesnt have 2FA than forget about it. My btc wont touch that exchange.
