Title: Problems with GPU in combination with x1->x16 Riser
Post by: Grandi86 on January 20, 2018, 04:51:45 PM
Hello Community

I have tried everything I could ... watched every video or topic regarding Riser and GPU Problems but nothing worked.
Now this forum - you -  is my last chance!

The Problem is that Windows 10 Pro does not recognize any GPU connected with an x1->x16 powered PCIE Riser.
The GPUs in my 3x x16 Slots are working as it should.
The motherboard I am using now has 3x x16 Slots and 3x x1 Slots.

Here is a quick overview of my Hardware:
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7
  • CPU: Intel Celeron G3900
  • RAM: Crucial 4GB DDR4-2133 CL15
  • GPU: 6x NVIDIA GTX1060 6GB (I tried several GPUs including GTX1070 and so on)

I tried several powered PCIE Riser producers (KOLINK, YIKESHU, ptsaying), so I can exclude the Riser as the Problem itself.
Same with the GPUs. I also tried several producers (all NVIDIA)
I tried several Motherboards, 2 from ASUS, 2 from Gigabyte.

Now we come to the driver Versions I use now (I also tried older versions, now I use the latest version):
I use now the GPU Driver Version 388.71 (NVIDIA)
Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Version 1709, OS Build 16299.192
I downloaded the latest BIOS Versions for the motherboards too.

In total I spent hours and hours to get the GPUs running on the powered PCIE Risers (x1->x16) but nothing worked.

Please help :-\
I appreciate every little tip ;)

Kind Regards
Andreas
