Title: ASICMiner Block Erupter question
Post by: LucidDev on August 22, 2013, 04:03:26 AM
I am looking into getting a dedicated machine to start plugging hubs into with my erupters, but I can't find anything that says whether or not the erupters need USB 3.0

My question: Do the ASICMiner Block Erupter need USB 3.0 to mine at 333 Mh/s or will they still mine at peak with 2.0?

Mine is working fine on 2.0!

Damn difficulty spikes suck though :(

They are working even with USB 1.1  ;D

Good luck with mining.

USB 2.0 is just fine and I recommend using a raspberry pi with minepeon.

MinePeon by mineforeman
http://sourceforge.net/projects/minepeon/

The raspberry pi can't run the block erupters without a USB powered hub.

you can use Bfgminer + erupters on the Pi (with the USB powered hub) with Raspbian just fine, no need to go to a customised build.

works fine with legacy USB even according to some members.
