This might be asked a lot but here it goes. I have some spare cash and being tech savvy I want to build my own +- 150 MH/s ETH mining rig. Now based on current difficulties and price if they stay the same rig should pay itself back within 3-4 months. My friends however are telling me that difficulty will increase and maybe even after a month or two my earnigns could go -50% or could slowly deminish as time passes. So is it worth it? Should i worry that my rig will quickly become useless? GPU rigs have advantage they are versatile. So if the ETH mining won't be profitable you can always switch to another coins. see https://whattomine.com/ to find other coins you can mine with. I would say if you are investing spare money ( not your life savings ) then go for it. The problem you will run into will be finding GPUs for a reasonable price in today's market You can start small an piece yourself together a 6-12 card rig.

Something else to keep an eye on with Ethereum will be the difficulty and when it is to switch from PoW to Pos.
