Title: Kingcoin is a scam
Post by: minerapia on August 22, 2013, 09:46:58 AM
This is a SCAM! theres nothing new in this coin, it is a scrypt-jane with minimum nFactor of 10. You can gpu mine this with any existing yac/ybc/copperbar/... miner with changing 2 parameters minimumNfactor and nChainstarttime.
Dev constantly state that theres no gpu miner etc is bullshit. releasing only compiled binaries was the red flag for me and I never even bothered, just took me some time to get all the proof I need.

Dev took alot of time renaming functions and filenames but it still plain old scrypt-jane (with minNfactor of 10)

I would presume dev gpu mined from day 0

2 thing that gives a hint if coin is a scam (usually):
- Closed source
- Newly created account for the coin, never revealing whose behind the coin.
( I Guess forum admins can figure it out quite easily I suppose )

Source for the coin was available from beginning, only the cpuminer's wasn't.

The dev lied about it using some new algo. Got a block with ybcoin GPU miner.

I gave up mining after about 5 hours, managed to get 10 blocks.

As I said, every one, please calm down, take a look at the coin control features, how do you guys think about this?

coincontrol is prolly cloned from
https://github.com/saironiq/yacoin-cc
so theres prolly nothing new and innovative in this coin.
I cba to even check if it has "new" features or if its 100% copy&paste.
This is just a feeling that I have, cant confirm this ;)

That's my fourth favourite novel. Great storyline. Not enough pictures, though.

Are you backtracking about it being new algo then?

See, I dont think most here would have cared if you had just said that it uses scrypt-jane, After all most coins being released are copy paste and some of them are doing quite well. Its your lying which has made everybody unhappy. Clearly, you were mining with your GPUs from the start and gave it some fancy name and a dedicated CPU miner with no source so that you can get a head start.

Please stop saying scrypt-jane is an algorithm. It isn't, you can run several implementations of scrypt with scrypt-jane. The algorithm is called just scrypt .

Sorry but I had to let it out (again).

Do you know his own language well? If you know it better than he knows English you have right to talk about his English!  :)

1. Algo is Keccak 512 + Chacha + Keccak 256, not simply "scrypt"
2. For Keccak 512 yac/ybc/copperbar/ miner does not work (I already check it)
3. Source code is available:

kingcoin: https://github.com/kingcoin/kingcoin
kingcoincpuminer: https://app.box.com/s/ubkx36wv35039sj6sge6

4. If there be a GPU miner for KingCoin, then difficulty be much higher!
5. With 2 CPU's (i5 3570K) I get 500+ Kingcoins for 24 hours.
6. I check already on this coin GPU miner for CopperLark (Keccak 512). It does not work too.

I hope somebody adapts Copperlark GPU miner for this coin (clr.vircurpool.com/site_assets/mmcFE/files/copperlark_reaper.zip)

ybcoinminer works perfectly fine on this. I was notified about it on the 2nd day, and after half an hour mined a block. Its clear the dev tried to pull off a scam and GPUmined from start.

The source code for the CPUminer was not given out at release so that people don't catch on it and he gets to mine for a day with his GPUs when rewards were high. Any of you promoting this coin are basically helping the dev pull off his scam.

funny how nobody mentions this to baritus about his blatant rip off of SRC, yet he claimed it used all new algos and removed the qrk copyrights. the bias around here is ridiculous.

I haven't mined Securecoin as I missed the launch window so did not bother. I have only 2 securecoins from the giveaway.

I mined Kingcoin from the start and actually have almost 200 Kingcoins. So, if this coin makes it then it will profit me. But once I realised the dev was trying to scam I stopped mining and all these posts are to make people aware.

EDIT: Out of curiousity, whats the block reward now?

ybcoinminer works perfectly fine on this.
Then just post your works miner. And the end disputes.
