Try uploading any cpu miner to virustotal, you'll see it'll get flagged as a virus.  ::)

@ xxrforone:
Kingcgminer, interesting, where you got that from? edit: nevermind, it's the ybcminer. Testing it, so far nothing, interesting nonetheless.
Weird how everyone jumps to conclusions lately.
edit: Nevermind, didn't yet read the latest comments in the main thread...

I tried and virustotal reports different values for cpuminer and for kingminer.

This is report of CPUminer:

Avast    Win32:Crypt-OSW [Trj]
ESET-NOD32    a variant of Win64/BitCoinMiner.E
GData    Archive.Trojan.Agent.FR0O8G    20130820
Ikarus    Win32.Crypt
McAfee    Artemis!BB84DA99E36A
Norman    Suspicious_Gen4.ELNSF
Panda    Suspicious file
Symantec    WS.Reputation.1
TrendMicro-HouseCall    TROJ_GEN.F47V0715
VIPRE    Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT

This is report of KINGminer:

Antiy-AVL    RiskTool/Win32.BitCoinMiner.gen    20130821
Avast    Win32:BitCoinMiner-CA [Trj]    20130821
ESET-NOD32    a variant of Win32/BitCoinMiner.K    20130821
Ikarus    Win32.SuspectCrc
Kaspersky    not-a-virus:HEUR:RiskTool.Win32.BitCoinMiner.heur
McAfee    Artemis!8C81AB18352F
Panda    Suspicious file
Symantec    WS.Reputation.1
TrendMicro    HKTL_BITMINE.SML    20130821
TrendMicro-HouseCall    TROJ_GEN.F47V0821

Different report on cpuminer doesn't make me confident that kingminer is legit (without included trojan/virus).

I know there is a chance of false-positive and I certainly hope it is false-positive.

It's not a false-positive, the AV programs correctly flag this as a bitcoin miner (it should still be able to mine bitcoin without the -a scrypt-new parameter), as used by countless botnet operators. Tbh your posts in the main thread demanding an answer to that obvious issue (it's probably metioned in every coin release thread) seemed quite pathetic, especially after numerous persons attempted to explain it to you. But it's understandable, after all there was no source for the miner.

Nonetheless kingcoinproject's actions were even more so pathetic, unless the ypcminer working was unforeseen and he truly changed the algo (I'm too stupid and lazy to look it up in the sourcce).

Win32:BitCoinMiner-CA is a dangerous Trojan horse that keeps doing harmful behaviors on computers. This disgusting virus that comes from malignant websites can be downloaded into computer by unintentionally visiting insecure links or downloading programs from the third party servers carrying with malicious codes.  Typically, Win32:BitCoinMiner-CA is known to initiate all the destructive activities by the executable files it drops into computer. It is about to modify system settings, slow down computer actions and block security programs to keep it remaining on computers for long. By gradually, there will be backdoor security exploited on computer to offer unauthorized access for other malware which will enlarge danger levels. Under this circumstance, computer may start to freeze occasionally. Needless to say, it is not a wise decision to leave it alone on computer or be aware to remove it until big trouble has been made. To prevent your computer from severe problem and keep files in safe, users are strongly suggested to remove Win32:BitCoinMiner-CA as soon as possible.

You are pathetic. Offering no explanation to any of my replies, only doing personal attacks.

Bitcoin miner != trojan horse that mines bitcoins

HKTL_BITMINE.SML

This hacking tool may arrive bundled with malware packages as a malware component. It arrives on a system as a file dropped by other malware or as a file downloaded unknowingly by users when visiting malicious sites.

It requires its main component to successfully perform its intended routine.

It doesn't say anything about "bitcoin mining", but about trojan-type of activity.
