Title: What is really needed for crypto?
Post by: natasha-lev on January 20, 2018, 09:19:27 PM
What do you think is really important for crypto development? We saw many government regulations and understand that we are dependent on them.
We have two ways:
- get adequate regulations from government, or
- go underground with decentralized exchanges,  markets and internet.
I prefer second point.  What would you choose?

Cryptocurrencies were created in protest to the monetary policy from central banks supported by governments. If governments regulate crypto without changing policy, like in the USA only accredited (rich) investors are allowed to invest in ICO's, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of crypto?

Both worlds will co exist, because is in the nature of cryptos this. But unfortunately token economy will be the next state of world global economy.

While the government does not take its final position in relation to the crypto currency, I prefer the second way. I think that many people will choose this way. And my guesses are confirmed by the fact that now there is a strong interest in private coins.

Private coins is not going to cause a stir in the currency area. If the public can't get coins then it doesn't matter.

the way i see it is that bitcoin and by extension most of the cryptocurrency market (excluding possibly scammy ICOs) will be regulated by most of the world. meaning something about 80% of the countries will regulate them properly like Japan and many other countries have already done.

and the rest of the 20% may do some weird regulation or even ban them which means in that 20% people will simply use decentralization to go around the ridiculous laws.

I would rather have crypto made as a form of payment in the real world there are only few of establishments that are accepting crypto as a mode of payment and I believe that this will make a huge change in the crypto industry in general. One it will be in demand such as fiat currency which will make is price higher and another is that it will make early adopters or holders profitable.

The most important thing for crypto development is, to be "crypto development"! Not scammy worthless speculation only wannabe cryptocurrencies!

That being said, of your 2 choices I personally like the second a lot more. Bitcoin was created to fight centralization of money and a world of filth that comes with it, but nowadays everybody says get it regulated so that the big big money comes in! We should not forget our roots...

We need some regulation by the government  or something for all the people that try to scam all day long in crypto.

We have so many ICOs that are just scam and the people still invest into these projects. We need somebody who is watching all these upcoming ICOs to make sure that they are legit

There should be a link between them because in my case for example i dont know how to declare the income in order to pay the proper taxes so that i dont have any problem with the goverment. But in my case the laws changes every year and we have a uncertain eviroment because our goverment its keep on changing.
On other matters i dont think that goverment should have anything to say because this market was born as a free market and it should stay that way.

This will help adoption, legitimization, recognition acceptance and so on, yes. But not really development, unless you want corporates to pour more money into R and D. Development happens independently of all these, like it always has.

But yes, further decentralization is absolutely necessary. Blockchain will definitely help to decentralize the Internet, I hope this will happen soon because the web especially is so centralized now, we have no idea that everything we see is what people want us to see.

Though second is a simpler first choice for most, having the first would just remove the uncertainty lying ominously there.

At current times, crypto is not just a thing, its a whole new field of technology.
There are and there will be all sort of cryptocoins ranging from underground anonymous to regulated or even government controlled/fiat cryptos.
And they'll have different use and preferences.

I prefer the second option. Because the crypt is originally decentralization. And the regulation here is inappropriate. But as everyone here understands that without governments there will not be.

It is necessary to establish a universal currency, so I am optimistic about bitcoin, and I hope it will become a universal currency. ;D

I will choose the same thing like you, the number one means if crypto already moved to the centralized thing because the government able to control it. But the problem is if you are trying to depositing your money to the crypto and then the only possible thing is through centralized exchange site, but decentralized exchange can become a good option too. But how so many countries against crypto in these days. I remember that when crypto stand with its legs.

I think that mass adoption would require projects like this one: https://fuzex.co/ (https://fuzex.co/)
A card that can give you real-time rates for your cryptos as you are going to pay, a biometric security sensor embeded... I would not believe anyone could be up to the task, but the thing is that the team looks just the right people to make this possible.

I preferably choose the second choice also.If the government take control of crypto coin or regulate them, then the purpose of its creator (satoshi nakomoto) would goes to nothing.Decentralized nature of them is a good asset that helps every individual, and it will always suppose to be.It's  seems to be sad that every users would all go through the government.Specially for those country that has a corrupt government and they are the only get benefit from it.

Decentralization is really a good thing about cryptos with this no  government can take influence to cryptos and may not use it for personal gains also with this capabilities equal distribution of cryptos to all people will happen unlike if government will make such regulations surely only those who have power will have more opportunity for income which is unfair to a lot of people.

Right now the support from governments around the world is required for bitcoin. If not at least they should not make bans on the usage of bitcoin as well other digital currencies. This needs to happen, with which we can make cryptocurrency progress and reach majority of the population who fear of using cryptocurrency.

I think the first one is more preferable. I know that all crypto users specially those bitcoin users are all welling to have a longer usage of crypto currencies which is possible to happen if the governments regulated crypto. And because of this adequate regulations of the governments to all crypto currencies, the first goal of bitcoin to become a global currency is nearly possible to happen.

Then just last week, ethereum took another hit when an estimated $100 million in coins was frozen and rendered inaccessible to owners.
Both attacks stemmed from vulnerabilities in what is known as a digital wallet. Much like it sounds, these “wallets” are digital stores for crypto where you can house and conduct transactions with your coins.
It’s one of the many aspects of blockchain that hackers can exploit. But the danger doesn’t stop there.
Bitcoin is just as vulnerable. According to a report by Bleeping Computer, new bitcoin malware attacks have already stolen over $150,000 worth of the high-value coin.

So at the moment we can safely say that bitcoin is the element of the Internet, and the efficiency of payments using crypto currency is still poor. We are still on the border between crypto-currency developments and traditional payment systems. So controversial question.

Governments and banks for long time didn't understand bitcoin and didn't take it seriously.
Now they are scared and try to put things under control, but this is actually impossible, as bitcoin was created exactly whit the intention to escape from banks and governments control.

Of course there will be a lot of big and threatening  declarations (they already started) about stopping, regulating and controlling, but at the end they will lose.

The only possibility would be a global agreement between ALL countries to stop cryptocurrencies, and to ban any kind of exchange, mining, ICO and so on... but it seems to me very unlikely.

Sooner or later the government will have to reconcile with the new realities.
We are trailblazers who create a completely new market.

I suppose cryptocurrency needs a great support from governments of all the countries. It will not ruin banks’ system as some consider, banks will do their own business as no one is going to say good bye to fiat money. This is best thing for people  8)

Guys, I know that I lot of you does not like regulators, but fortunatly they are needed because of such things like the shake of the market this month. Lets face it, if there were regulators such a drop of the bitcoin would never happend. At the moment there are rumours about regulations and this is shaking bitcoin. Also, I think that we all know that Wall Street is on the Crypto market as well and with shady tacticks (for which there are now regulations at the moment in the Crypto World) and with a lot of money they are doing whatever they want with the market, making bitcoin to go up and down with 50 %. This is insane!!! If Crypto is going to change the World and the way we pay, there MUST be at least one stable coin, that do not fall for 36 hours with 50 % of its value.  ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
My opinion is, that the regulators should regulate only the big coins. The alt coins should stay without of regulations. By that way, I hope we all to have a more stable major coins and a lot of alt coins that are moving up/down, so that the market to be interesing :).

This is the principle of decentralization, all this is done only in order to ultimately simply not be able to regulate this or that process on the part of the state, because people are clever and, judging by all, they try to envisage certain variants of the development of events. I like decentralization

The modern world must accept the decentralization of the cryptocurrency market and not fight it, the very appearance of such financial relations suggests that the old monetary system is obsolete and that in order to develop the world economy, we must choose a new path of development and not cling to the old. Many are tired of state control and most likely they will support the second variant of the development of events.

If the coins go underground it will remain decentralized, the problem with that is it would never be accepted to be widely used. The main target is to accept the use of cryptocurrency worldwide to be recognized legally.

But this is exactly the beauty of decentralization. There is no one to tell you what you must and must not do. If people want to fight it, so be it, they must be allowed to do what they wish. Just look at crypto and Bitcoin, some people decided blockchains will be private. Others believe in leadership devs and centralized management of projects. Govts believe crypto will be regulated. They will all try, and they will all realize with full force that they cannot control it. Bitcoin has become very strong simply because it survives all these attacks on it. You try to kill decentralization,,, it only gets stronger.

If you are new to crytocurrency then firstly you should get yourself registered at bitcointalk forum, secondly you have to be hard working and have to spend as much time in bitcointalk forum to search about different cryptocurrency and try to gain knowledge. Then start learning about Bitcoin trading and mining and be very selective with Altcoins. The most important thing is that you have to be very patient once you are in. Patience is the most important weapon needed in this market.

Both are needed to have a smooth process. Its not a secret anymore that cryptocurrencies are existing already. Its part of economic change that the government should also understand. I think we just need some serious talk between the government and these cryptocurrency authorities. To have an equal regulations to make crypto officially legal as we adapt the economic change.

yes it is import that the modern world should accept the decentralization of the cryto currency market, it is now the need of the time that there must be one currency present in all over the world which have the same value everywhere and we can use it without changing it into any other currency. I think that bitcoin is the best option for that, as bitcoin is now bitcoin too much popular even in backward countries therefore we can use it as one currency in all over the world.

I think the most important thing that crypto needs to have is the support of government to adopt it in countries economy because as for now legality issues is a big problem of cryptos. Since many country are against bitcoin because they are afraid of its capability to make transactions without any trace they think this can tolerate illegal acts as well as abuse of government officials and powerful people but if time comes that it will be resolve I'm sure cryptos especially bitcoin will be having a brighter future.

It should be a balance in both worlds, at some point we should meet half way in terms of regulations and decentralization, right now that is the main problem that we need to solve, I believe if we can lessen  the scam and frauds so people can trust crypto more,  we can make cryptocurrencies mainstream. but the solution is still to be discovered maybe 5-10 years down the road we can make this possible

Crypto exist because they want liberation from centralize body. The success of crypto depends on the ability of the coins from flexibility and not guided by center rule by the government. I'm not in favor of regulating the altcoins because it will be control again by the powerful countries and that's not good to small time investors.

Crypto is prohibited by the government so we need to make it legal. Then, crypto (bitcoin) can be accepted in the entire world as a legal payment, as well as the government establish tax for it. I do hope, having legalized, crypto is able to force economic development and it is easier to use bitcoin
