Until it's regulated you will see the same games played now as there were then. Market manipulation pump 'n' dump was rife until the SEC was setup and put a stop to it.

In the case of bitconnect, the warnings were there, the noise were loud, to the extent that if you fall victim of that scam, it was purely your own fault and no one else. People are rules by greed and their quest to achieve so much with little and that is the beginning of their downfall no one else should be blame for that.
