Title: New to mining
Post by: Jimdorsin on January 20, 2018, 10:08:34 PM
Sorry if this is an old question, or if it is in the wrong place. I am extremely new to this and am kind of computer stupid.

I am running a blizzard, and as I understand it, it should be about 6 GPU's.  I have been running a week now, but it seems I am about another 3 weeks before I hit the pay out threshold. (currently at .00103....)

Am I wasting my time and spinning my wheels?  Just seems that it will take me a month to earn a buck 70.

Thanks, and again, sorry for the noobishness.

Yes you are spinning your wheels.  Bitcoin difficulty has been way too high, for about 5 years now, to mine with GPU's.

Please read the forum rules which explains this.

Thank you.  I will make the post in the pool section, as I am in a pool that is mining litecoin.  I took the term to be generic for crypto currency. My noob.

I will delete the thread once you have had the chance to see my response.

Thanks again.

Don't make new topic. Just move this one to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0  (altcoin mining section)
(use bottom left link to move topic)

FYI: LTC is also mined by ASIC
see https://whattomine.com/ what you should be mining with GPUs

crap, sorry,

Had already made a new topic under pools.  (as I am in a pool)

I thought this forum was specifically for the pool site I am in, and as it is a litecoin site (and this forum is linked in the main menu) I kind of put this as dedicated to that group.

My bad.

Spinning your wheels is an understatement....
