No reason to be bashful about the work you've put into those videos, Charles.  It's good stuff.  When do you think you're going to upload the wallet reviews?

Another very thorough video series for "intellectuals" is here" https://www.khanacademy.org/science/core-finance/money-and-banking/bitcoin/v/bitcoin-overview

I love Khan, but its pretty dry.  To get people excited about it, we really need to tell them what's in it for them.  What are the benefits and how does it address pain-points they are currently feeling.

This is a cool high level video that's pretty interesting as an intro to the bitcoin economy: http://vimeo.com/63502573

It all depends on how much someone wants to learn.

This is really good. Upbeat and i like the idea of the BTC timeline. I thought it was a bit political at times and the Silk Road thing was quite prominent at the start but i suppose thats the history of Bitcoin

cool videos.

how come the presenter calls the topic 'the Bitcoin'.

'you will learn all about the Bitcoin'

it sort of keeps distracting me as I listen!

A good link for noobs with some technical background: (can't put the link. Search Google for Satoshi white paper)

Except that they'd read that and realize that BTC was simply intended to be a proof of concept; they'd quickly want nothing to do with a currency/commodity riddled with so many issues.

I hear Bruce Wagner might be planning a new BTC show.

This is the paper that convinced me to invest after 6 months reading.

I hadn't heard of that one so I looked it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6sOFXHlhu

That's the driest bitcoin primer out there. I would recommend it to anyone with insomnia, but probably not the best first impression if you're hoping to get people excited about bitcoin.

Invest or use?  Is the goal to get newbies to invest in bitcoin or to use bitcoin as currency?  The whitepaper's first sentence references electronic cash; however, a quick glance at the instability of the currency commodity shows that it's not a favorable medium of exchange except for illegal markets.  However, another recent paper shows how unanonymous BTC is for kiddie-touchers -- http://fc13.ifca.ai/proc/1-3.pdf.

First I invested in a mining rig, then I bought more bitcoins with fiat, then I started to purchase and sell products and services.

The paper convinced me that it was not a scam and a robust system. When googling Bitcoin in mid 2011 there was more results calling it a scam than anything else.
