Title: ELECTRUM: ## A FLAW IN THE FAMOUS BITCOIN WALLET## Post by: muscrypto13 on January 21, 2018, 06:55:27 PM Electrum is a free software that allows you to install a Bitcoin wallet on your computer.
Electrum wallet is known for its reliability, but a flaw has recently been discovered, allowing a third party to recover the bitcoins stored on a wallet. A Github user has discovered the bug, which allows sites hosting an Electrum wallet to steal users' holdings. Users' passwords were exposed in the remote procedure call interface "JSONRPC" This vulnerability had existed for more than two years according to some reports. The bug was also commented by the administrator of Bitcointalk. The solution: The 3.0.5 update the Electrum team released last Sunday evening: a 3.0.5 update that seems to have (finally) put an end to this vulnerability. not to mention you are spreading false information: Users' passwords were exposed in the remote procedure call interface "JSONRPC" user passwords were never exposed. Electrum wallets stay on your PC and are not hosted on sites.
