Let´s say I want to open a coffee shop where you can buy your coffee ONLY with cryptos.

Which coin would you use for this case?  I would choose XRB, because it is very fast and there are no fees!

Please tell me your suggestions.

XRB and XLM i guess, fast as light transaction and have almost zero fee. unless your customer is really rich person and wouldnt mind to pay 5usd cup of coffe with 20usd fee if he pay with bitcoin

XRB would be the best choice faster transaction confirmation compare to BTC and doesnt require any transaction fees.
But i doubt it will achieve success not most of the people are using crytocurrencies,maybe you can only opt-in paying with crypto and still use fiat as your main payment method.

Ethereum is efficient and fast on most days but I would rather have a coin like Bitcore (BTX) that is near instantaneous and can handle up to 48 million transactions a second. Seems pretty high but somehow they have managed to create a coin just like that.

XRB is good idea and others coin that has small fee and faster transaction is DASH, WAVES, DGB, IOTA. But now alot of project that has aim to offer product that enable for cryptocurrency to buy any goods and service with cheap fee transaction and faster like PUNDI X and TEN X.

I dont think it will take $5 for fee if you use bitcoin to pay your coffee.
I am supporting your ide to make coffee shop and accept crypto to pay your coffee but dont use bitcoin at the moment till its fixed by developer.

definitely bitcoin. It would be like paing some gold for your coffee. But also diversification will work good, if you provide many types of coin and people have choise in your cafe

If company will see the benefits I guess we will bring crypto's in its new stage, while bitcoin got a high fee for each transactions better to go with its alternative I also see xlm or doge they have a quick transaction no fees or less fees will attract consumers to use it and it will help more crypto coin being developed and being useful in our daily life, this is how we wanted to see the progress of this industry being use inside the mainstream in each simple start.

I'll choose XLM for my payment method to buy coffee because I think XLM transaction is very fast and almost instant transfer , but if you've use any crypto credit card , you can choose different cryptocurrency as payment method

Buying coffee will be simpler with crypto until there's a solution to the crypto credit card problem.

I'd choose XRB and maybe Verge, because it can be anonymous, but that coffee shop won't live long enough with only accepting crypto.

I am a hundred percent coffee addict. And if you'll have to use bit coins for it as payment, it will be a good idea. I suggest if it will be created in some coffee shops, they should have cards which people who will buy should have to swipe it for payment. Etherium for me because that's the only wallet I have today.

True, I think this is good choice of altcoins specially now that bitcoin and also ethereum is not very advisable as a mode of payment. These top cryptocurrencies have very high fees specially eth and btc and not to mention the tax from buying basic commodities in your coffee shop it would not be very advisable to use btc as a mode of payment though it is more famous.

i think the good Crypto for shopping transactions is bitcoin also ripple because both have been widely used for online transactions by mercants or any websites, so making it easier for users to transaction or exchange

In my country a few years ago when crypto was not developed, there are some coffee shops accepting payment by bitcoin, then bitcoin is only worth a few usd. But now when the crypto market is growing and so the bitcoin is increasing extremely much, in addition to my country is also banned bitcoin and crypto transactions so trading with bitcoin is very difficult in my country I feel sorry for that.

Ill definitely use Bitcoin because of its worldwide popularity and there are more people have bitcoins than other cryptocurrencies. But other than that, i think i will choose ETH as my altcoin transaction fee. I think it is good too.

Personally, I'd use Litecoin for small purchases.  Very easy to convert LTC/BTC on any exchange.  It also follows the flow of BTC very well.  Not much fluctuation between BTC/LTC pricing when converting.   Others are all over the place.

I would use btc to buy coffee with bitcoin.Because is more popular than any other I think it can be accepted in any coffee shop if they implement bitcoin as a payment system worldwide it must acceptable than others.Cryptocurrency is growing so fast I think they must accept btc in any establishments now because of its price value that continues to increase and grow so fast.

If you want to insist on receiving crypto then I would go for something like Ripple that is both a low value token, has low fees and is fast. However you could accept a crypto debit card for payment where the customer can choose which currency to spend then you can be paid in either FIAT or coming soon through Crypto.

Centra Tech are developing this system right now and I suspect others will be doing similar soon.

I see that there are some areas of business that use the method of payment by using payments through crypto and now it may already be a trand of great interest. if I may give a recommendation to you I might say that you should do a business by using a bitcoin payment method because I see from some people who do a business using a payment method using bitcoinsangatlah menjajikan. because of course there will be many tourists from abroad who save bitcoin more as an asset for the future when compared to other types of crypto. I am making a coffee shop in the future also then Ethereum and other fast cryptocurrencies would be another mode of payment that I'm going to accept.

Also you can look closely to Dash, it's fast, stable and secure coin, price is growing up huge, when market bullrun.

In the Philippines, there are some coffee shops who are accepting cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. However, there's an emerging cryptocurrency known as #YOLOCoin. In their convenience store, they are going to accept all kinds of cryptocurrencies for buying goods and services from them, including the YOLOCoin. However, they will officially launch the store next month.

However, here in my area, there's no coffee shop who are accepting cryptocurrencies yet (or maybe they are not yet adopted massively). I wish one day there were some who might accept cryptocurrencies in the area.

If you will going to use bitcoin for just a cup of copy then your coffee will be quite expensive because to think every bitcoin transaction will have to pay a flat fee in which already cost you $8 equivalent for the miners alone plus the value of the coffee. I think XRB will be the good choice because of no fees but limited places because XRB is not a wordwide unlike the Bitcoin.

It is obvious that bitcoin adoption is the key to other altcoins getting adopted for real world purposes. I don't understand why so many people feel that shops would accept other altcoins before bitcoin since everyone knows how popular bitcoin is. Initially, the shop would most likely accept bitcoin and if satisfied, will accept other popular crypto like Litecoin, Dashcoin, Ethereum, Ripple etc.

As the popularity of bitcoin continues to grow, more and more shops will accept bitcoin as an alternate source of payment and they might even support other popular altcoins in the future. Bitcoin is the key here.

Yes bitcoin is popular but on this case of buying coffee with crypto, you might even pay for the TX fee higher than the coffee itself. It doesn't matter if bitcoin is widely accepted but someone that wants to drink a coffee worth $5 isn't willing to pay $8 fee. Altcoins that are suggested by majority are XRB and XLM, I'll go with doge if it's for the cheap fee. I haven't tried other altcoins that has been said that doesn't need any fee or the fee is only 0.

I think I wouldn't prefer to spend bitcoin or ethereum as currency. Fees are quite high now. But I think that its okay to spend litecoins, its fast enough and fees are low enough. Price is stabilized too.

Maybe doge is the right choice, with fast deals. because if we open the store, I think efficiency is the main one to influence customer satisfaction, so I think dogecoin is altcoin suitable for this

If the coffee shop is in the main city then it would be a great value to open a business otherwise i don't think that opening a coffee shop and allowing the crypto payments will give you good business returns. Anyways the best option for using the coins is XRB, XLM, and also Neocoin which i think is going to be used in future for coffee shops and also it wouldn't be surprising to us if we could see these above-listed coins be used in the E-commerce store, Shopify store, and many more other places.

because it is the most well known, and most adopted cryptocurrency around the whole world. if anyone has any cryptocurrency they have bitcoin.
bitcoin is the most tested code which makes it the most secure cryptocurrency to use with nearly zero chance of serious bugs whereas altcoins are considered high risk and they have already caused millions to be lost.
bitcoin has the biggest network and with the huge hashrate has the most secure one too.
bitcoin, unlike majority of altcoins, is decentralized so you know that it won't  change overnight if someone decided to.

regarding fees that everyone is scared of these days, you can start running a Lightning Node which has been out a while and you can start accepting payments as small as 1 satoshi without any fees and without any kind of delays. by the time you open your coffee shop and start setting up the node, it will be battle hardened too.

I think any coin will do for me. Because not all people own XRB. So for those people that own ETH will pay ETh and BTC will pay BTC which is equivalent to the price you have set for a certain coffee in your shop. It will be Okay as long as someone is willing to pay.

If you want your idea to become successful, then you do not need to choose only one coin. Give people the opportunity to choose from a large number of coins.

I advise you to choose coin that is used by many people, such as ETH, LTC, BCH. Although it takes time and there is a transaction fee, but if you provide services such as sharing knowledge about crypto, maybe customers will not be disappointed with it. The best option would be to chose more than 3 alt coins for that. Litecoin should be one of them.
Your customers will have different coins and you don't want to lose them. The most difficult would be to find suppliers accepting cryptos and even if you find, you need to pay your taxes. You can't pay them in cryptos yet so I think that you should accept fiat too.
If your crypto customers would pay slightly less for a coffee than your fiat customers, then you would introduce new people to cryptocurrency.

My choice is Litecoin!
Because it is now everywhere. Soon transactions will be nearly free. LN is on the way.
Maybe now it's not instant, but i can wait 1-2 minutes before 1st confirmation)

I don't know which one I choose but definitely wouldn't choose Bitcoin, as it almost lost that micro payment function IMO.

With the ongoing network congestion people have different opinion regarding the usage of cryptocurrency for faster confirmation which is a must with marketplace acceptance and for a sustained usage. In this regard I would prefer Eth. Hope to see more shops to start accepting ethereum.

Agree. Ethereum has faster confirmation and the transaction fees is also very low compared to bitcoin, I will definitely use Ethereum as crypto if any situation arise like you said. The other altcoins is good but the growth perspect is also good in Ethereum, after I purchase coffee as you said, the remaining amount in my wallet keeps on growing for my Ethereum.

In most countries if you open small business you are obligated to settle a payment in national currency (at least). So paying only in crypto isn't an option.

I think Dogecoin is not a bad choice. It's fast and the fees are very low. Its also suitable for selling coffee.

I'm going to educate the people around my community about Cryptocurrency as the future of Economy and trade.

Many people said Ethereum suffered severe traffic congestion that's why some people are using other coins in order for them to make faster transaction than they experienced in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
But in my own experience, every time I use Ethereum I didn't face any problems and issues like when I transfer coins into other wallets it only costs a couple of minutes or less.

I will use ETH, Doge or Lumen for buying coffee at your shop. Doge and lumen have low transaction fees. As for ETH, i feel it is easier for you to convert to fiat using coinbase for your business expenses.

The future cryptocurrencies should offer fast and cheap transactions, if they want to replace the old payment methods.

The way I see it, most "pay with crypto" shops are kind of a gimmick right now. Of course they're a great way to change the public perception but I don't think they're very successful at this point in time.

Me too! I will choose either XRB or XLM, because its transaction is free and fast, plus its value is still growing. I will never use bitcoin in buying a coffee, its like your transaction fee is worth 3 cups of coffees.

I would accept a lot of crypto coins because not everybody is holding XRB.. You get more people that will buy a coffee, if you accept Bitcoin, Etherem IOTA and all the other stuff that the people will start to hold for long term!

I think you need use many cryptos. More the better: BTC with LN, Litecoin with LN, XRP, Stellar and others. But better need to sell subscriptions on long term with one transaction.

Using altcoin is far better solution for paying, but most people, if know what is crypto, only know about Bitcoin.

This will be an irrational act if you open coffee shop with Only way to pay via Crypto. You should offer another ways for paying: card for example.
There are a lot of projects that offer you to use a card and pay via crypto: Monaco, Tenx and other. Also Fuzex offer one clever card with up 15 credit/debit/bonus card in one.

It had been used for years and have been populated now and yet the transactions are still faster and cheaper.
If it had some problems, it was fixed easily in just a day or two.
Just cents for every tx fee for one coffee. Consider it like a tip jar for the Ethereum developers.

You can use any cryptocurrency that you want regarding to your business. There are a lot of online stores who already has a payment method of bitcoins but still you should apply a fiat payment because some of the customer you will get does not have any cryptocurrency to pay in their bills.

If I were you, I will choose 5 altcoins that will be used as a mode of payment. for me the 5 coins are:

1. Bitcoin - The first and the well-known coin.
2. Ethereum Token - Steady, strong price value going up.
3. Bitcoin Cash - Gaining grounds, others say the stable version of Bitcoin.
4. Litecoin - Faster to Bitcoin in processing a block and it takes only 2.5 minutes
5. Ripple - The third largest coin on the market.

It's a surprise to me not many people even know this coin.It's a PoCC coin, eco friendly and most of all the devs are very active, they're posting the development progress everyday. Not just shilling it, Burst should soon be recognized.

is your country a crypto currency legal? if not, then you should not take too risky a decision to open a coffee shop where the transaction uses crypto currency

i think you need to choose on what is in demand cryptos in your country and make sure that the fees is lowest so that the buyer will always back and buy your product.

Both you & the vendor would have to wait for the transaction to be confirmed, meanwhile the coffee queue just gets longer and people are starting to get impatient.

That coin is good choice, other best option is DASH. Also there are many start ups was make project to offer more easy and make convenience to buy and spend crypto to buy good and service, one of the that project is Pundi X, this project has working product and used already in many cafe and restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia. In my opinion, all of the cryptocurrencies have still fluctuate price characteristics, and this makes the daily buying still difficult. I believe that, daily buying with the cryptocurrencies is not a dream, but  I think cryptocurrencies have still a long way to go to be used in daily life.

XRB transaction cost is very low, which is very favorable for the promotion of this coin. I don't think anyone will pay for a cup of coffee with bitcoin or eth, because it only needs a small amount of money. I think the coin you choose is quite good for your business but using crypto in business is not really good idea. Because not all people has interest on crypto and not many people has knowledge what is crypo and you also said only payment you want is crypo that is not a good idea for a business what if too many people want to buy but they don't have the coins you want i think they will not waste their time just to get the coins and buy your coffee. So your business will not prosper and grow.

The price of coffee is very low, but the transaction fee of BTC is too high at present. The price of a transaction fee is higher than that of a cup of coffee, so it is impossible to pay coffee with BTC at present.

I really like the idea for some coffee shops today that they're going to support crypto as one of their mode of payment for their products and services so people may be educated properly about Crypto and blockchain technology.

I don't believe that Bitcoin will qualify as payment for a coffee because Bitcoin is the slowest transaction speed of all the cryptocurrencies in the market todaY.
I believe on crypto that will being used as one of the mode of payment for some business establishments like coffee shop and fast food restaurants but it should be the fastest crypto that could transact in just aron 60 seconds or less.
