Title: 2k£ to invest.. and how?
Post by: aoaaron on January 22, 2018, 02:48:00 AM
Hey, I have £2k to invest in crypto. Any advice please?

I'm struggling to get setup at coinbase as the identity verfication seems to be down every single day I try and use it. Which methods can I use to quickly invest some coin?

Thank you!

There are alot of other exchange that has good service like Kraken, Gemini, Gdax. Because make investment in cryptocurrency is high risk so for the better divide that money in to more than 2 different crypto and choose coin that has huge potential and good portfolio, for example ETH 30%, DASH 25%, LTC 25%, XRP 20%. But if you get more profit buy also others coin that just listed in the market so you get cheaper price and hold it a few month.

It's always smart to check ICO reviews & ratings before investing.

www.cryptorated.com (http://www.cryptorated.com)

Is a good start. It shows popular ICOs, market trends, coin analysis.

Good luck!

Well, 2k of GBP are almost nothing in here, maybe yo u can buy some coins but that is not the most profitable thing that you can do.

And if you mean that you can not use coinbase, just buy your bitcoins through Cex.io, coinmama, Localbitcoins,
or just any other exchange..

Good luck.

Well in my world 2k GBP is a respectable amount of money and certainly not "nothing". I would suggest to wait for a dip and kill your FOMO filling. Wait for NEO and Waves minimum price and get some (Neo is a safer bet but potentially less profitable). I also watching Emercoin (EMC), devs are Russians, but they employed some Chinese team members and have a good presence in China. Also they waiting for next round of investments from 2 big funds.

Sometimes, I'm not suggesting that you invest in these altcoins, because you know nothing about altcoin.
I suggest you get to know ICO, because if you don't know altcoin, you are highly likely to lose money, and ICO, as long as you invest in a good project, does not need to pay attention to short-term gains and losses.

Thank you for the advice guys. I will look into ICO.

Any good resources please?

TBH I can invest more. I have up to £50k to invest but since I'm very foriegn and naive to crypto, I want to take it slow and see how 2k-5k does in both the short and long term first.

I still dont get how I buy the coins and can quickly cash out too if needs be.

Any resources people can suggest will be MUCH appreciated.

new here, but I would look at the top 10 coins, which can be found on coingecko.com or other places and then spread your money across the top 10, you will make a profit over 1,2,3 years. if you want  fast return then look for a penny coin, dump the lot on that and wait for it to rise @cryptoChoe on twitter is a good follow.

Coinbase will verify eventually (unless you are saying you can submit details?).  Also look at CEX.io for depositing.  I'd like to recommend Btistamp, but been waiting on them weeks myself.  You may also consider localbitcoins, though i myself am reluctant to deal £'000 with blokes down the boozer/coffee shop, ymmv.  Look up about using Revolut to deposit via Euro's and more importantly withdraw.  There's an effective blockade against Bitcoin/GBP conversion, which is very odd considering how many operations are in the UK, you're fine if you step through via euro accounts (but tell the bank to avoid account freezes).

Dont invest a lot unless you understand the risk, only put in what you expect to lose.  £50k could be £500k by the end of the year, but it could be £25k by next Tuesday.  That said, buy into ETH or LTC, not bitcoin, to get lower fees and ease entry into high profile ICOs (nearly always ETH tokens).

I would in your place, first buy bitcoins on an exchange. Then you can swap the bitcoins for altcoins. Which altcoins you should buy, you have to decide, but I advise you first to get some facts about the altcoins that you want to buy. 2000 pounds are a lot of money, even if some people see it differently. It's best to split the money and buy a few different old coins instead of just putting on one coin. I can recommend EOS, TRX, VEN, XLM, IOTA, NEO and XRP. They all belong to the top 30 altcoins and I think they will grow in the next few months. If you do not want to hodl, you have to be careful that you do not buy the coins at a high.

Try to buy some Bitcoin in these days and after a couple of weeks your money will raise to 2,5K pound.
Then you can invest the new ICOs or buy a few altcoins like VEN, ENJ, INS and hold for a few months.

Pick your coins based on long term or ahort term.If you are investing into short-term then ICO may give more profits than investing on altcoin but the real thing is to find a legitimate ICO.
Or if you don't know about ICO better to go with long term investment because those coins have less risks when compared to short term coins.
For long term I suggest you to buy LTC or NEM these coins price also may go to moon in near future like bitcoin and ethereum did in the past.

To more or less successfully trade on crypto exchange, one must know the fundamental and technical analysis basis.
So first you need to look at what events can push up this or that coin. I use the site coincalendar.info for this.
There are basic dates for each coin. For example, on January 24, LBRY Credits (LBC) plans to release its mobile application.
Accordingly, on the eve of this date, the price of the LBC  token can grow substantially.
