Title: Is day trading in crypto?
Post by: Murloc on January 22, 2018, 08:36:30 AM
I'm curious if day trading in crypto is more profitable comparing to forex trading? It is true that Bitcoin have a high volatility but if you need volatility you can just pick USD / GBP pair and then chose a higher leverage to get a higher profit. It seems like the amount of leverage can fix the lower profit in forex and you just won't have to deal with all crypto related problems. I will appreciate if any experienced trader wil explain me the situation. Thanks.

Sure, there is day trading in crypto but you really have to be ready for the stress that is involved in day trading crypto due to the fact that it is a decentralized market and anything can happen within a split of a second. The fluctuations can be crazy as well but if you really want to trade, I feel you are better off doing short or long term trading with the help of some indicators. However, if you feel you have the great knowledge and skills to pull day trading of crypto off, then, be my guest.

What kind of profits one can expect to make when day trading in forex? (really not sure about that, since i never tried it). About day trading in crypto, what i usually do is various trades using indicators and try my best to get consistent 3% profits. it may not be much per trade, but in thed end it all adds up :) Also you need to consider that not every trade is going to bring you profit, some just don't go well.

The same as in crypto market :) My point is that all instruments of technical analysis are easili applied for forex tradind, stocks, options and any other asset. Cryptocurrencies are not starting a revolution here. From the first sight if you will trade on forex you may have the same profit as in crypto but avoid all FUD from cryptomarket.

it is possible and it can even be more profitable but the biggest difference is that when you enter crypto markets you will see that they are a lot less predictable than forex market and that makes trading that much harder.

the unpredictability goes so far as even technical analysis becomes useless in some cases. so you are left in a market without any "tools" and only experience, lots of hype and manipulation and pump and dumps.

Whole crypto market is volatile and even without any leverage you can either make high profit or huge loss. In forex you have to take high risk with high leverage but in crypto even with just 2.5x leverage in margin trading you can make good amount of money with lesser risk.

Comparing the volatility among these two things I would say cryptocurrency trading is more profitable because I have seen how prices do jump among those two thing but the difference is only that one is centralized and backed and the other is pure decentralized one which prices do depend on how people do adopt or engage with it. Day trading either sides would really give you income but on different amount or profitability comparison.

I don't like margin trading or forex trading. Day trading on crypto (excgange) has the big difference, that you will have all cryptocurrencies  in your pocket. The second big difference between crypto trading and forex trading is, that cryptocurrencies are still following an upward trend, if you choose established ones, because of growing popularity. So the probability is high, that, if you choosed a cryptocurrency and that went down, and you sit just the downtrend out, it will recover.

Yes, day trading is more profitable in crypto than in forex due to higher volatility. But take this in mind that higher returns include higher risks. Trade wisely.

Trade in crypto-currencies attracts just the big volotility. And this is incomparable with forex. But as written above and the risks are greater. If you manage risks correctly, then you can achieve a lot in the market of crypto currency.

Yes day trading in The crypto market is way more prfitable than the forex ,but it's more profitable for you to HODL one or few coins that you believe have a future and are comftable with . Day trading could bring you good profit but also could make you lose so much ,all depending on your luck. A coin could litterly go up 80% and dip down by  30% you might think it's time to buy but there's no guarantees that it will go up again even if you read the charts right. Cryptocurrencies are more news driven than analytic.

I really don't think that setting higher leverage will generate you as much profit as you will get in crypto. It's obvious that the high volatility of crypto coins can generate more than the average profit of day trading forex. Day trading is a tough job and in order to achieve good income through that you will first have to master trading and learn how to trade crypto coins. If you master trading than I am pretty much sure you will be able to achieve a huge income just by working a few hours a week.

Day trading in crypto world is dependent on coin.If the coin is new and risky and has not yet established itself than you can try day trading. As the basic concept of day trading is that if the coin is not able to maintain people's trust for longterm but it is increasing day by day.Than you can do day trading. It reduces the chance of lost due to some new coin.So my advice would be do day trading as there is no harm it but understand don't put any big amount for day trading.

When you do day trading, it is a sure bet that you will make many transactions and the total profits from those transactions will be greater than you expect the price to rise over a period of time and sell it. However, that's  if you do not make mistakes or mistakes are not enough to make you lose too much money.

Day trading for a living? At least with crypto you can trade 24/7. Id have to make 200-300 a day 5 days a week to live off trading. That's bare minimum. That would be difficult for a noob like me.

In forex trading indeed has lower volatility than cryptocurrency market, but when we increasing leverage in forex trading that mean we get higher risk and posibility get margin call, but in crypto trading though the market high fluktuasion but we can not get margin call and even we are in loss we can wait for that because the market can be going up again. So altcoin trading without leverage actually less risk than forex trading because we can not get margin call.

Day trading is the best thing to do in crypto world as it really helps you in making more money and that too in a less period of time. There are people who are getting rich just because of trading but the fact is it is not an easy thing to become a successful trader. It really demands you to have some good expertise in the field of trading. Do not jump into trading until you are fully prepared for it.

Trading crypto currencies is a lot more safe than Forex, and the potential earning is also bigger. Also in Forex you need to start with big budget usually, otherwise you can't expect a real profit. With trading crypto you can start even with small amounts, and your profit could being good because the prices are going up fastly.

I think it is because the movements in the market and the way the prices go up is more significant in the cryptocurrency market as compared to the forex market. However, since the cryptomarket is also more volatile, being able to hit the jackpot is also lower. As they say, the cryptomarket is a high-risk-high-reward type market, therefore, if you are no the type to actually do some leaps of faith at times. Then, there can be a chance that day trading is not for you. Instead of that, maybe you can resort to more passive means of earning in the cryptomarket.

Ok, first of all, remember crypto trading isn't equal to forex, in crypto trading your coins can lose value, but you will hold the same amount of coins, but in forex you can lose it at. Now getting back to the point. I would say yes, trading with crypto is more profitable and that's because some coins can hit +1000% in less than 24H, i have never seen the 1000% in forex, and when I see it in cryptos was hard to believe.

That 1000% isn't easy to get, you need to chase the coins and roll in a lot of exchangers, but is real and it's possible. With that right luck you will choose the right coin

Yes i agreed with your statement above sir trading in crypto's compared to forex  is more safer and easy compared to forex.
Crypto trading is also lower risk compared to forex trading, and also crypto's is a high volatile currencies that is easy with us to make money in trading. Crypto's coins you may be trade this to other coins if you see that you have already the profit then quick cut it off.

P.S. Day trading is more riskier and it needs time consumed just monitoring chart of price value.

Day trading crypto can not be get margin call if does not use any margin, but in forex my balance can be become zero if i use high leverage. But if  have  high skill in day trading actually could be more profitable in forex trading because we can make profit from up trend price and also down trend price and also in MT4 platform there are trolling stop feature to keep the profit.

the issue of votality as traders begin to observe important changes in market behavior. traders are more likely to bitcoin because bitcoin market behavior is more promising than forex. that's why many traders now choose bitcoin as the spearhead for trading and leaving forex.

Better than Forex, for sure. For instance these days you can spend your time for buying altcoins and Bitcoins for the minimal prices and take pleasure later when getting your awesome profit when they gain.

Apart from all different answer I think what you wanted to know was whether high leverage in forex can equate the profit in crypto. There is two different opinions regarding this and also depends upon where you live and what are the forex and crypto rules. If you are in a country like Japan or south asia probably its easier for you to get into crypto trading but forex is much more complicated while in countries of Europe forex is much more easier.

when it comes Profitability crypto market has unbelievable chances of making you rich. Forex market just cannot provide that kind of profitability even if you leverage large amounts. Moreover volatility in itself means that risk on both on the red and the green side. I would recommend trading is better in crypto than in forex.
