Title: CG Crash runs half speed
Post by: Jriker1 on August 24, 2013, 04:59:39 AM
I have CGMiner running two instances, one for each card in my system.  Same drivers between them, 12.8.  The one crashes from time to time as I'm still messing with the voltages.  Here's the thing.  When the 7950 crashes, the 6950 keeps chugging away full speed.  OK no problem.  Problem is, when I start up the 7950 after the "DOS" window crashes, it runs at what I'd call slightly over half speed.  Only way I have seen to fix it is a reboot but am remote and computer has a bootup password.  So I let it run half speed until I can get to it.  Is there any thoughts on how to get it running again without a reboot?  Odd the second card keeps chugging along without issue.

THanks.

JR

Dont know if you fixed this problem or not, but if you are remote you might want to install Teamviewer.  Even with a password, you can remote in after a reboot and get it up and running.

Stop tweaking the hell out of it with varying clocks and voltages, and instead resort to basic graphics cards stability / stress testing methods like using OCCT or FurMark or Kombustor. As a starting point, revert to stock voltages and clocks and see if the card has been damaged or not. RMA if it has, sell on ebay as faulty if its out of RMA period.
