Title: GPU reports "SICK"
Post by: byt411 on August 24, 2013, 05:58:40 AM
I have a Radeon 7670, and when I overclock it to its maximum using MSI Afterburner, Which is Core Clock: 800 and Memory Clock: 1000, after mining with GUIminer and CGMiner it tells me the card reports itself as "SICK" and it won't mine anymore, unless I restart my computer. MSI Afterburner then displays both clocks at 0MHz and a 0% usage of the GPU. Can anyone explain what is going on?

Have you tried Reaper under GUIminer?  If all else fails, you may need to lower the overclock.

overclock too high for the card and/or voltage not hight enough to support those clocks.

use afterburner to increase the fan speed manually, I have same problem with my 7870 and manual speed solved the overheating problem.

GPU needs some theraflu. Can be picked up at local pharmacy.

I second what Twingo Said.  It's amazing the problems that can be solved by pointing a big fan at hardware.
