Title: Custom Cases
Post by: Trini8ed on July 12, 2011, 03:56:28 AM
I wonder if I started making custom mining cases like this if anyone would buy them these are some pics of them and I would allow people to customize them color of plexi glass how many psu's you need have the fans on the top or not? Would anyone be interested in this. I will be making one for myself it will be this same model and I would gladly make it for others!

No, because you ahve one SERIOUS problem - your approach does not scale. As in: NOT AT ALL ;) As in: You can not put one above the other.

Rather go for something less high, longer, with fans on beginning and end. I o that. The idea is that the case is 20cm high, fits into 5 rack units and uses either 2x20cm or 3x16cm fans on both sides (4 or 6 fans) to move the air through as fast as possible.

I don't think it should be stack able because people would either put this onto a rack instead of stacking them or place them side by side they would become very flimsy if they were to be stacked on top of each other, but it should be shorter. For the fans on the back side MOST people have external exhaust cards meaning blowing air through as fast as possible will redirect the airflow from the back of the card back into the card meaning less cooling performance if they have external exhaust and I would customize it depending on what hardware you are getting... From the top is the best bet for people with external exhaust cards so they can get air onto the cards from above so the fans can blow it out on both sides.

I edited it a bit.
