Title: Why BF Labs Inc. doesn't have to collect/pay sales tax to the state of Kansas.
Post by: Phinnaeus Gage on August 24, 2013, 06:10:05 PM
Because they are above the law.

If I am mistaken, Josh Zerlan or Sonny Vleisides will reply in this thread showing proof that they do indeed pay sales tax to the state of Kansas.

If they don't, then they should be heavily fined.

Quote
If any taxpayer, with fraudulent intent, fails to pay any tax or make, render or sign any return, or to supply any information, within the time required by or under the provisions of this act, there shall be added to the tax a penalty in an amount equal to 50% of the unpaid balance of tax due.

I am guessing they haven't paid one cent in sales tax.

Can't we even get past the second post without spreading misinformation?

Let's see the facts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110868.0

I'm on a good track now,...

Clearly, I've just shown that in no way Sonny Vleisides would do anything outside the law given that his company now has 45 employees--NOT SUBCONTRACTORS!

Since they clearly have employees, BF Labs Inc. has an EIN registered with the the IRS.

You will need an EIN if you answer "Yes" to any of the following questions.

Do you have employees?

Since any corporation mush provide the EIN when asked, I will ask the following simply question:

BFL, what is your EIN?

<I am well aware that Kansas sales tax and EIN are two different issues.>

Apparently not when the 1st post claims BFL is above the law.

I think you will have more success if you ask that in the BFL forums, I don't think they read everything on BCT.

Why should BFL repply here to your question ?

That is not misinformation, that is exactly what I am guessing.
Paying taxes is not Sonny's style.

Does this thread even belong in the custom hardware section? It has absolutely nothing to do with actual hardware.
Also, do we really need something like five separate threads all repeating the same stuff over and over again?

That is the point, if BFL could manage to ship actual hardware to customers who have been waiting over a year we wouldn't have these threads. Nowadays, most news from BFL has to do with pretend hardware called monarch rather than "actual hardware" anyways.

This thread doesn't even have anything to do with pretend hardware, even you have to admit that.

Did they pay taxes?

Has anyone reported them?

Is there any proof? Do you go up to random people in the street and ask whether they have paid their taxes? If they don't answer you do you then go and report them to the IRS?

Bit hard to be a shill when I'm not in the same country as BFL, have waited like every other customer and have never received any benefit, payment or anything else... I didn't even get a mug with my order!

Also not a sock puppet, as that would mean this online identity was created by someone else. I'm the only user of this account on this forum...
