Hello,

I stumbled upon this: https://twitter.com/KamilBrejcha/status/955467614247178240

The comment is odd. They hope it breaks the bitmain monopoly? If more manufacturers can release chips, it would be low profits and possibly game over for miners....
It is best to not have so many manufacturers for the same thing because more of them just means more miners and thus, more difficulty.

uhhh i think i first time saw something from them, like 7 months ago, and speculation of 12, 10, 7 nm technology, hopefully, we can see something innovative that is not vaporware(thinking of some dragons).

Plus it is easy to post a picture of a PCB with some chips and other components on it. Where's the proof that it can actually hash at current speeds for current gen power draw?

They have already said they will not be selling their 12nm chip. Who knows if it even works.

That board looks like a major step back in design, it reminds me of those terrible cointerra systems.

Nice to see them having progress in the R&D.  :)

I sent them a e-mail to ask if they are selling those boards and if they would sell me one for a review here at the forum.

Here is the original news article at GMO.jp:

GMO Internet’s Cryptocurrency Mining Business Develops 12 nm FFC Process Technology for Semiconductor Chips: Progressing towards realizing a cutting-edge 7 nm process technology for mining chips

@HagssFIN haven't they said something they are going to sell their boards via ICO method, or something like that?

Ah i found article: https://www.coindesk.com/gmo-token-offering-2018-bitcoin-mining/
but this was 3 months ago...maybe something will change

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info.
So it seems they have chosen a similar road for fund raising and miner sales as the Russian company group called RMC (Russian Miner Coin).

They don't show the other side of the board, but I don't see any IO interface or even any way to power that board.

I had a closer look at this board.

Yes they are there, see this picture for more details:

But there are no power connector locations populated with a power connector in this particular board in pictures.

I think they are jumping the gun on the 7 nm chips to be released before July

GMO Internet will continue to work on research and development of a 7 nm process technology for chips to be used in the mining process, and will also introduce the next-generation mining boards equipped with these chips in the first half of 2018.

So I take it the original thread covering all of this BS wasn't good enough? Ya know, Japan’s GMO Plans to Sell 7nm Bitcoin Mining Boards Using Token Sale (http://Japan’s GMO Plans to Sell 7nm Bitcoin Mining Boards Using Token Sale)?
Thread reported as dupe.

Lord that layout reminds me soooo much of the disastrous layout that Bitmine.ch/AMT used on their failed A1 miner. Why the frek so many bucks being used? No bypass caps seen near the chips, etc...
