Title: Anyone running a Masternode or POS coins?
Post by: Crytptohack on January 23, 2018, 01:19:20 AM
I'm interested in potentially running a masternode, but do not want to setup a home server. I've seen various sites that will host the service for you.  Anyone have experience with this?

I've also got a few coins that are POS and plan to experiment with staking once I setup a dedicated PC.

I'd like to hear experiences / tips from those that have been running them.

Thx!

I'm running PoS coin at my Rig, and running smoothly
If you want, you can run PoS or masternode coin with at least 8GM of RAM

if you want to start small you can also go for a POS pool like https://stakeunited.com/ working good for me. they are also starting to do masternode

It would be cool if someone who’s set it up could do a live zoom with some of us to set up a master node. We could pitch in some donations.

I’ve watched a few tutorials on YouTube, setting it up a virtual private server but seems like so many things can go wrong and I wouldn’t know how to troubleshoot the code.

When using MASTERNODE, the need to download Blockchain and chain every day automatically increases will certainly affect the storage capacity. When you use a VPS or Dedicated Server, it must have a VPS or Dedicated Server that has a large storage capacity. When viewed from the VPS price, the larger the storage capacity will be more expensive.

When compared to using a PC home, the cost incurred will be cheaper, you just need internet access and buy a larger capacity HDD. above just compare the cost to be incurred if using VPS VS Home PC. not the benefits you get

well, staking with POS it's easy and do not require any dedicated PC like server
for example right now I'm staking three wallets with POS on my laptop and all is working like a charm
but for MN it is better tom have different PC with static IP address

^^Agree.  Start with POS coins as they require nothing more than running a qt-wallet (unlock for staking).  I'm currently staking POKER coin at 10% per year.  POKER coin still has like 45 days of POW phase left, so you can still mine some.  It's should also be available on Bit-Z for trading very soon as it was voted in last week.
