Well his DNS still resolves. Oddly...I did a trace to his server a while back to check latencies but it was at a different server than this one:

tracert ypool.net

Tracing route to ypool.net [87.106.246.243]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  7    93 ms    93 ms    94 ms  eqix-da1.1and1internet.com [206.223.118.141]
  8   101 ms   102 ms   104 ms  te-2-4.bb-c.fil.qas.us.oneandone.net [74.208.1.79]
  9   168 ms   170 ms   173 ms  te-3-4.bb-d.bv.crb.fr.oneandone.net [74.208.6.101]
 10   172 ms   170 ms   171 ms  te-2-4.bb-d.bap.rhr.de.oneandone.net [212.227.120.42]

 11   186 ms   184 ms   185 ms  ae-1.bb-c.tp.kae.de.oneandone.net [212.227.121.167]
 12   179 ms   179 ms   179 ms  ae-2.gw-distp-a.bs.ka.oneandone.net [212.227.121.210]

 13   178 ms   177 ms   178 ms  ae-1.gw-prtr-r1-1a.fs.kae.de.oneandone.net [195.20.247.137]

It's failing somewhere upstream of that. I hope his domain didn't get hijacked.

I think they're doing the best they can right now. And also maybe this is just an unscheduled maintenance or matters like that. :)

The front page says the webpage is down but the pool is working fine.

payout/mining arent effected it says.

though honestly I did switch to beeeeer.orq for 48hrs to see what I get from them.

Must be a DDoS

Wouldn't surprise me... the neat thing about the PPC/NVC/XPM difficulty adjust and block reward algorithm is that as a miner you benefit immediately and pretty extremely by knocking other miners offline.

Do you have enough cpu core to mine solo? Difficulty just went up 4x recently. You can mine at the other PTS pool, but I would suggest beeeeer....

I just joined this pool and the front end has gone down twice in the last few days.

Is the back end still running does anyone know?

Has this pool always been this flaky?

May have to go back to rpool if this continues...

Backend is down too. Ypool claim to fame is the first XPM pool, still think they are the best XPM pool. But this PTS pool is taking them down a lot lately.

Which part is a scam, the Primecoin part, or the yPool part?    ;D

99% of people that say scam, never really give valid and tangible facts to back it up most of the time. Just an opinion until a fact is given, then it isn't a truth and speculation wouldn't hold in a court of law.

From his twitter

ypool.net ‏@ypool_net 23m
ypool offline due to hardware failure. We are currently looking into migrating our pool to a different server. Downtime at least 12 hours.

Seems like we killed his server with 50,000 workers at once!  ;D ;D ;D

I've been using ypool for maybe 3 weeks. Started with about 12k users and then 20k, then 30k so it crashed at 50? I've found two blocks so I'm excited to see them come back. Never found a block of bitcoin so I've got my first primecoin block written down. They'll be back up, they will be rededicated to hosting a larger pool I'm sure. Maybe they can back off of their fees a percent with all this volume?

They have been having a lot of server issues and the port issues don't help either. Looks like mining is working, but it sucks not to have a front-end to see mining info and coin balances.

As usual... they were running on a temporary web front.end so.....

I'm sure it will be up soon enough.

Is it just me or has yPool gotten dramatically less profitable in the last week or two? Difficulty doesn't appear to have gone up that much either... Anyone else had the same experience?
