Okay give me suggestion for cryptocurrency that you think is a good long term investment. Something with a strong team, providing an actual important service/solution, an overall extremely credible. suggestions also welcome. Just value must rise.

BitShares, EOS, RaiBlocks & Cardano

LISK, GOLEM, 0x, Dragonchain, Lifeid, AIR, CAPP, and Electroneum are my picks.

ADA, ETH, LTC (at current price) and of course BTC.  I know that some new upcoming coins might offer a quick gain but I don't have time to watch charts 24/7 waiting for a pump. I'm interested in coins that will keep growing for a year or 2 and possibly double in value in 24 months.
IMO most older coins will keep growing along with the whole cryptocurrency market so if you're willing to forget about your investment for a year or 2 you'll make money anyway. The only question is how much. 

BTCCryptocurrency that I think is good for a long term investment:
1. MNX (minexcoin), MNX have a good team, the solution MNX bring it is Low volatility payment coin, The main idea this project is Take over the volatility. He controls the volatility with they platform MINEXBANK. In minexbank you can park your coin with daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. You can choose the investment with % of parking earn.
2. Bonpay, This platform is an incredible solution for simple digitals payment, like as credit card.
3. Bitcoin and Ethereum, both of coin is a favorite investment for me,

Bitcoin and Litecoin.

I love how people make recommendations yet they don't want to explain AT ALL why their recommendation has a good business model, genuine value to offer the public, or why it would be a good long term investment. I feel like people are just listing the coins they own, hoping someone knew will buy some.

RIPPLE (XRP)

Ripple seeks to drastically improve the cost and speed of international bank transactions. These transactions represent the largest volume of currency trading hands. Currently the fastest way to get $100,000 from New York to London is to physically fly it there. The current electronic alternative is a 3 day process!

If you're here for a long term investment than go for none other than coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Zcash, Dash, and Litecoin because they are some awesome choices, and they are risk free. You should split your investment into all of those coins and wait for a year or more to see some amazing profits.

You might find some other good coins to invest in, but the above coins are risk-free, and they have bright future. You can also invest in coins like Monero, SALT, and NEO, because they are also safe choices for long term investments. And, remember that the coins I suggest you are really profitable, but still I recommend you to do your own research on all of those coins before taking any decision.

I think BAX token has a promising project that it is a decentralised bank managed via a smartphone app and provides access to a decentralised payment card.
So I made some research about the product that will come out at the end of 2018. It can be a good long term investment.

Also XRP, XLM and ENJ keep their potential as long term coins.

NEM in favor of further price growth will be played by the following factors: 1. The uniqueness of the algorithms of the NEM system ( POI algorithm), according to which success is obtained not by the one with more money, but by the most active users who bring real benefits to the system and economy in  whole. 
2. NEM's focus on the real financial sector of the economy, which in time will be guaranteed to use advanced crypto-currency technologies.  It is necessary to understand that in future the states will undertake even more desperate attempts to curb the digital currencies market.  After all, if they lose control over the financial system, then this will mean the collapse of the state - this is unequivocal!  Therefore, in the future, for sure, new "rules of the game" will be defined, according to which the existing model of the financial system will merge with the crypto-currency market.  This means that the most developed development will be those crypto-currencies that are most suitable for this format.  These include the NEM crypto currency.

I'll give my top three coins based on growth that I expect to happen throughout 2018.

My first Crypto I am a huge supporter of is DeepOnion, it is a privacy coin that is sent through the TOR network so it is totally anonymous. They have one of the most active dev teams and community I have ever seen and pumping out updates like crazy. They even have released a WooCommerce plugin for the ability to take and send payments through Onions essentially making a anonymous e commerce outlook, as well as a mobile wallet being released soon for iOS and Android operating systems.

My second crypto pick is DENT, it is trying to revolutionize the telecom industry where you can now sell and send your extra data to someone who needs it and does not want to buy the data from a provider that will just be price gouging them. It also helps 3d world countries hugely where for example they only sell data packages in 1, 3 and 5 gigabyte packages and whatever is not used from month to month just gets burned. That is like giving gas back to the gas station at the end of every month that you didn't use.

Last but not least I am a huge fan of High Powered Blockchain which is a company that is making it's own blockchain based on software AND hardware for super quick transaction times and transfers. I am huge on this crypto because of the fact that they are partnered with China UnionPay (which is bigger than VISA and Mastercard) and the sole fact that NEO is a angel investor and connected.

I have a feeling that all of these crypto currencies I listed will have major breakout years in 2018.  

EDO or eidoo. They have a great team working behind which aims at creating a private key ethereum wallet and exchange for both ether and its tokens just like a centralized etherdelta on mobile. With this I think the whole world of ethereum can be revolutionized but make sure you buy it in a dip its been quite volatile lately.

TRON is a good long term investment.

ETH for about another year so long as it does not become mega popular (Won't cope)
Ripple in case government closes things down (Good coin for beginners)
Neo as modern replacement for ETH but only one exchange trades "Gas"
IOTA because it's 12 times faster than Bitcoin

Cardano but only because people are starting to talk about it not that I have had
the time to look at the nuts and bolts that all the slot-machine players forget about

See we do get people here that do homework and back up a statement with facts !

Nothing wrong with Linux but a lot of developers are windows spyware based and get locked out from code that won't even compile
in windows even when they say it will so they will like NEO because it's all windows and smart contracts can be written in C#

Not just China but Asia are locking the west out because they can see how people like Google and Microsoft have taken over
and we lock them out to so this time they are ready to play us at our own game. if gas was traded on more than just one exchange
then I think I might go for this one myself
 

Yes, for long-term investments it is safer to use coins that already have a special place for users. That's one way to avoid scams, and keep your assets safe, though not a 100% guarantee.

I think it will be an interesting year for sure, probably will go to 5$ in the middle of the year and can hit double digits later - I am riding the SLR train since january 2015 and it might be a slow ride, but it is going upwards so for the long run this is my choice.

This is a flat out lie!

None of these crypto currencies are "risk free"! Seriously, there is IMMENSE risk in investing in any crypto currency. If the OP wants a risk free investment they need to invest in a government backed short-term bond. They're guaranteed to return the principal. The government issuing the security guarantees the investment. No such guarantee exists in the crypto currency world (as much as the high yield investment plans would hope for you to believe.)

Stop being lazy , do your research open websites read the road map of each ico , no one here will give you the best investment , it's your call , they want you to buy this coin because they will get profit from ignorant newbies like you , so do your own job and pick your best coin or walk away if you can't

it is the third coin that always leads me to the success of investing ..
since I used very rarely invest in other coins. occasionally I often enter in XRP or BTG and BCH, maybe according to my thoughts and predictions is just this coin that has the potential,,

The lesser known coin I bought into lately is SMART.  TBH I haven't studied enough coins to know if it's actually better than the others, but I do like the coin's properties.  One thing in particular is that much of the block rewards go to coin development, support, and promotion, which I think is much more constructive than some other ways of distributing coins.  Also the smartnodes and rewards provide the opportunity to collect interest on holdings.  It's not perfect, there was a recent hack and chain rollback which caused a long pause and apparently some drama that's still going on at cryptopia.  I'm not impressed with the official communications related to that.  Regardless I am enthusiastic about the prospects for it.

If you are confused by the number of coins you think are good for long-term investments you should hold BTC or ETH.
Not too difficult for them, if you already get the price that you feel match the profit you will get you just sell it. however, if you need advise I will give you some recommendations that I think are good but the decision is in your hands. Here's the list.
1. XRP
2. ADA
3. NEM
4. IOTA
you should do some research on them, so you know the coins that have very good potential.

I also would suggest the same mentioned above, specially NEM and IOTA. BTC and ETH os must, they are the lifeline and quite important as well. XRP and ADA I have  just heard or read here and in other blog posts, currently I am studying or researching about this two.
Apart from the above mentioned, Stratis, Dash are also two good one, Stratis is still under my study.

WAVES, NEO, ADA, ETH, and that is definitely the BTC. BTC is no need to explain again about long-term investment, surely all users of crypto already know BTC. and about long term investment besides BTC I choose ETH, because ETH like its parent is BTC which have alternative altcoin. and ETH has an alternative that is a token that can be changed to ETH, ETH is also very promising for the future of its users.
