Title: Stellar coin the reason why Stripe is dumping Bitcoin ?

The popular payments platform ‘Stripe’ has announced that it will cease to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment by April. The company has cited Bitcoin’s volatility and long transaction times as the main reasons that motivated this decision, a decision which is not going to win them any fans among the crypto enthusiasts.

At the moment, the problems that have hogged the Bitcoin blockchain are hard to ignore as a successful transaction can sometimes take hours to go through. What makes matters worse for the merchants is that by the time they receive the Bitcoin its value may have slipped down.

This is actually big news.

It means that Stripe is not ditching cryptocurrency - instead they are picking a more efficient coin.

    “OmiseGO is an ambitious and clever proposal; more broadly, Ethereum continues to spawn many high-potential projects. We may add support for Stellar (to which we provided seed funding) if substantive use continues to grow.”

The blog post mentioned a few other altcoins such as Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and ‘other Bitcoin variants’.

It looks like they'll enable several cryptocurrencies and let users choose which one they want to use.
