Title: I just need some merits
Post by: Thirio on January 26, 2018, 11:06:28 AM
Although i don't post crappy material i am quite worried i won't rank up to member. I am still a jr member but i am approaching the 60 activities mark yet i don't have any merits yet. How can an ordinary jr member like me gain merits? Given the fact that members need to post quality posts and other members would give you some merits. How can i gain merits if most of the post are being ignored and such?

you could of actually used the 30 seconds needed to open and read this thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2825523.0

then posted in it asking for me or others to check out your posts..

but you didn't, so you are not trying to learn... that makes you a shit poster who doesn't try to help themselves..

so - ill give you another chance to post in the thread above and try to provide value in this place, it maybe that you cant so you don't deserve any merits...

Man chill, calm down. There are tons of threads, do you expect everyone to check them one by one? Stop hating things, i'm genuinely asking here since i can't see other ways to have merits. I posted a question, isn't that helping myself? As a new member, i literally don't know anyone here i can't just casually ask someone to check my post and see if he can give me merits. I am sorry if i have offended you in any way but what you're doing is making every newbies and jr members compete for merits. I get that you want to help. But helping newbies by talking like that won't make you a great helper and a quality poster.

read the boards.. that is what this whole process is about - stopping useless posts, a change is needed and you need to embrace it.

if there are 5 noobs that have quality posts I will dish out 50 Merits as I feel the system will of worked. The merits are no good sat in my balance, I want them going to people who deserve them and I wont be the only person thinking like this

You earn it the same way you earn feedback or reputation: you build it over time. Keep making quality posts and someone will eventually reward you but there isn't a quick fix to this other than earning it naturally.

Thank you.. I want to help the newbies who listen and can add value. I want this place to have decent bitcoin and altcoin discussion, I am fed up of reading the altcoin speculation section and seeing, what next 100x when moon, when lambo - this is my shitcoin and its the best..

the collectibles section seems to be about the only sane place on this forum right now

I get it, he's trying to help but it doesn't feel like it. I got the whole idea of showing him my quality posts but does he actually need to say "you are not trying to learn... that makes you a shit poster who doesn't try to help themselves.." and "try to provide value in this place, it maybe that you cant so you don't deserve any merits..."? Can't we just spread the love and not hateful comments?

no.. make the effort to read the front page of every sub you frequent, in all likelihood there will be a relevant thread to post in. if you cant be bothered to do that what is the point of you being here?

im not being nasty here, I am trying to get the newbies to think differently.

You bad boy - why aren't you promoting the serious discussion boards. :)

I think member should not be that hard. Even if you help other members in the meta section correctly, you will achieve those 10 points. Some of the good posts may get ignored but not all. Many lower rank members are already getting merits. See their posts and try to replicate.

because they are all filled with pajeet posts.  collectibles seems to be the only place that isnt infected as people have to spend BTC to get legitimate posts there by buying stuff
