Title: Restore Wallet Jaxx
Post by: quintela on January 26, 2018, 05:38:23 PM
Hello,
The situation is as follows: I had a prescription in exchange and I decided to transfer it to a wallet at Jaxx (version 1.3.7).
I had 4 addresses in Jaxx, before I even transferred I had saved a seed, ok ... I got one 4 addresses and sent it to him, after the time needed for wallet updated and there appeared the value, but when I tried to download another the application (installed on the iPhone) struck, was locked in loading and would not.
I thought: I have a seed, and a PK from the wallet, what can hardly happen? I will uninstall the application and reinstall again.
I did this, restoring the seed and twice in the portfolio of 4, to which I have transferred the value did not appear. I tried to restore by PK on the electrum, and to my sad surprise the address it pulled was another, one that was restored in reinstallation ...

I've already tried to generate 2 million addresses by the seed (it's an HD wallet), and nothing from that address appears.

Use the seed in Electrum, It should work. Go to File > New/Restore, choose a name > Standard wallet > 'I already have a seed' > write it down > Options > check 'BIP39 Seed' (https://d33v4339jhl8k0.cloudfront.net/inline/71831/204f9d7b44a625bb541b5b82d3be4fb80a3022d3/e67d922a90ec8fdd9bb91baf4e097936d892becb/1d6c52463b4f7f556f57f98e0c934a43.png) and leave the derivation path as it is.

Do you still have the wallet working in your first device? I'm not sure if in this part, you're talking about the new device (which was failing) or the original one.

I thought: I have a seed, and a PK from the wallet, what can hardly happen? I will uninstall the application and reinstall again.

If you still have, do this:

1. In Jaxx, go to: Menu -> Tools -> Display Private Keys -> Display Bitcoin Keys.
2. Copy the private-key from each address that is not empty.
3. Go to Electrum: File > New/Restore -> Import Bitcoin address or private keys -> Paste the private-keys from step 2 (one per line) -> Next.

If you did what OmegaStarScream said above (and didn't forget to check 'BIP39 Seed'), then the seed is probably wrong. I just installed Jaxx to try myself and the addresses match in both wallets (Jaxx and Electrum).
