Title: Martingale alike systems that you had success with.
Post by: Professor James Moriarty on August 28, 2013, 10:35:04 AM

 I am one of the people that believe there is no way to beat the house , because of the house edge , either you leave with a profit when you are up , or you see yourself become the vi... not that one , you see your bankroll empty :)

 But still , I do wonder if anyone has any strategies that they had luck with on dice games or roullettes or whatever else you are playing with a strategy to win bitcoins.

I tried several martingales on primedice (with the free 0.0001 btc, and automated trading), but it always destroyed my account.
Once, I could multiply the free deposit by 20 before loosing everything

Bet 0 then whenever I win or lose I double my bet. Works everytimes.

I could handle it up to 12 or 13 losing streaks, but it always happened :(

I turned 3 BTC into 10 BTC on just-dice by betting at 33% (3x payout), starting at 0.0001 BTC, doubling each time I lose, and resetting when I win. I got really lucky.

I actually had started with 0.43 BTC a few days before, got it up to 1 BTC, invested it, went to bed, then I was playing 33% starting with smaller amounts... had a run of losses, tried to change chance to 49.5% and bet 0.1, but I typed 49.5 in the payout box, so it was 49.5x, but it still won! 4.85 BTC profit from a single bet due to a mistake. :)

With 6 BTC total at that point, I donated like 0.65 BTC to a site and a friend, and then I lost like 2.45 BTC playing on JD. Then I was like, well, I'm not going to do much with this 3 BTC just sitting here... and one of my friends offered to match 6 BTC so I could buy a computer. So, I set my bot to go from 3 to 6 BTC. It did. Then he was like, $600 is a lot of money, so I set the bot to go from 6 to 10 BTC. :)

I'm still not sure how I got this lucky.

I think you should quit while you're ahead! Ridiculous luck with the 4.85 profit though. You said you used a bot? What bot do you use?

The longer you go the more likely it is that you will bust, but I've had luck with my strategy.

I bet at 44% so the return is 2.25x.
On every loss the bet is multiplies by 1.75

My start bet is 0.00001 and my bet limit is 0.003

If and when I reach my bet limit, I change two things.

New start bet is 0.0001 and my bet limit is 0.03

*Only run this round until you make back your losses from the bust*
after that, reset back to 0.00001 and 0.003

If this round busts as well, then go one further

New start bet 0.001 new bet limit 0.3

*Only run until you make back your losses*

If this busts, then just start completely over and count your losses.

You did not have enought bankroll for martingale to work

I think the best way to use the free 0.0001 on primedice is to double your bet each win at 49.5%

0.0001 start, double to 0.0002- then bet that and if you win you have 0.0004

If you can do that 15 times you have over 1.6 btc so about 11-12 wins will give you something nice too.

Otherwise, I agree with the above- your bankroll is not big enough to martingale successfully.

 There are rarely any 10 wins in a row , and our best hope is that it will align itself on the most perfect moment for us during that time? That sucks :/ .

This is a nice little piece of code that someone posted on this forum:

Code:
<?php

$i
1;
$balance 100.0$init_balance $balance;
$bet 1.0;
$win_multiplier 1.957// SD 50%
$threshold mt_getrandmax() / 2;
$won 0$lost 0;
$high $balance;

while (
$balance 0) {

printf("New iteration #%d, betting %f BTC\n"$i++, $bet);

$balance -= $bet;

$chance mt_rand();
    if (
$chance $threshold) {

printf("%d is below %d, you lose!\n"$chance$threshold);

$lost++;
    } else {

printf("%d is above or equals %d, you win!\n"$chance$threshold);

$balance += $bet $win_multiplier;

$won++;
    }

printf("New balance: %f BTC\n"$balance);

$high max($balance$high);
}

printf("Initial balance: %f BTC\n"$init_balance);
printf("Final balance: %f BTC\n"$balance);
printf("Your highest balance in this game was %f BTC\n"$high);
printf("You won %d times and lost %d times (%f%% won)\n"$won$lost100*$won $i);
printf("It took me %d iterations to make you broke. Stop gambling!\n"$i);

?>

The problem is that it is gambling with a 50% of win, and 1.957 multiplier, when you do a martingale, you play with a 2 multiplier, and a 49.5 % of win ...

I know but this is my favorite part:

I usually bet and win, then I bet again.  I always stop one bet before a loss will occur though.  Works every time.

That's what the betting limit is for. Otherwise martingale is sure-win for anyone with capital.

If you dont have infinite capital, and noone has, you will loose all one day no matter how many loses in a row if you wait long enought
