Title: What is Raiblocks? Should you invest in Raiblocks?
Post by: digdig on January 27, 2018, 11:29:26 AM
Unlike most digital coins that use the traditional blockchain database, RaiBlocks uses a new data structure, Block-lattice. While the blockchain consists of a series of individual blocks, each RaiBlocks account owns a blockchain.

The only account that can make a transaction to the blockchain of an account is the account itself.

To send the money away, the sender needs to execute a send command in the Blockchain of the sender's account and, of course, the receiver will also execute a corresponding receiver command also in the receiver's own Blockchain, the transaction is transmitted through As long as the validator does not detect the conflict, the transaction performed for the correct purpose is successfully validated. This is also why RaiBlocks are fast.

The RaiBlocks Network includes wallets and authentication nodes. For a purse to be able to carry out transactions, it must send the order to an authentic note. This authentication node will be responsible for validating the transaction, and will then forward the next authentication node to the connection. Each authentication node performs a validate-and-relay process until the entire RaiBlocks network receives the transaction.

An authentication node monitors the status of the entire network by storing the blockchains of each individual RaiBlock address. Conflict occurs when a transmission transaction does not match another authentication node. In order to handle this conflict, the authentication node initiates the "Vote" process of other nodes, which takes place over a specified period of time, the number of "votes" that a node equals the number of RaiBlocks it has. Possession plus the number of RaiBlocks entrusted from the other accounts. When pending status reaches 133,248,289 / 2 "Vote" (133,248,289 is the total number of XRBs present), the status will automatically switch to accept.

RaiBlocks networks do not provide "rewards" for this validation operation. To minimize the garbage requirements, an account needs to perform a "POW" - job evidence to supplement the account holder's transaction request into the account's own blockchain.

To be honest I thought that this coin is dead for a long time because it was very popular back in 2016 with distrubution through solving captcha. But more recently has again attracted attention with big price increase from 0.30$ to over 30$+ and reaching in top 20 currency on CoinMarket.

Developers are pretty active these days and working on new wallets(mobile&desktop),and to add XRB to more exchanges. It may be too early to say what is future of this coin, but I think it is worth to invest some money and check your old Rai wallets.

Transactions are instant and there is no fee, this is something users seek today-no doubt this coin will find its place in cryptoworld.

Of course it is a groundbreaking design and puts most of the top 10 to shame

same for byteball

For long term investment, yes, Raiblocks is worth it. Raiblocks is a solid project that providing zero fees and instant transactions, something that still an issue in most cryptocurrencies. The devs are very active especially on the discord group and they are still working on mobile wallet app. Furthermore, XRB will getting listed on Binance. I already bought more when it dipped into 110k sat.

It's hard to argue with that logic. Zero fee and fast transactions are features that will help spread mass adoption fast.

I think the price of raiblocks is currently too high for long-term investment. But for sideaway trading I really like this coin

Thanks for sharing this good information I was not aware of this information before. I have not traded much in this coin so I am saying thank you because of that because it looks like a good coin and now I will do more research on this one and will also buy some of these for the long term because it looks like it will give more profit in future.

i believe that it is mainly the technology behind it. the DAG technology has been getting more popular recently and people are paying more attention to coins that have implemented it. it is not just XRB that has risen, IOTA and Byteball have also been pretty active.

and i like all of them. it is a pretty interesting technology and the way they are handling transactions seems to be much better than PoW, PoS,... all the known methods so far.

if i am not mistaken RaiBlocks is said to be able to handle thousands of tx per second

Good explanations OP. Until now, I was assuming raiblock is just another clone coins and instead of using faucets they are having captcha solving ways to airdrop their coins. Because, up to some months back I did see lots of services was offered for solving railblocks captchas.

After getting know about the concept and the idea behind raiblocks, I believe they are lagging with their promotional strategies unlike ripple or dash. They are heavily promoting their product and making them to hit news more often also pumping their value time to time. When raiblocks also will be doing the similar things then we can see its prices to skyrocket like how eth have done in last year.

Now a days, concepts and ideas behind the project are playing very little role for success of any coins. Yes, unfortunately promotional methods are deciding their value and then success.

I have a railblocks before that I earned from the faucets I sold it for a very cheap price and now that I see the price pumps very high. I regret I sold it for a cheap price. If you would like to invest then buy it now.

When I just think how much I sold them back in 2016 almost for nothing I could have thousands of them now.But I am happy with a few hundred which I recently discovered in almost forgotten RaiWallet.I almost sold them also, but something told me to keep some for future and I think it will be possible to profit nicely in the months to come.
