Title: Why can't I create a topic in Other Languages(Local)? Post by: coughee on January 27, 2018, 04:26:02 PM Hey all,
I'm trying to post an ANN in Local (Other languages) section of the forum. There is no Start Topic button in this section! I have more than 10 Activity points, so it shouldn't be a restriction because of that. What can I do? Also, in that section, it's written that "anslated announcements are prohibited unless locally relevant. " :-[ where should I post the ANNs then? Two: Alt coins Announcement threads aren't even allowed in there as a language must have it's own local sub board not just a thread. Title: Re: Why can't I create a topic in Other Languages(Local)? How is that possible? Surely there must be a way? A lot of crypto users from where I live, and most of them not very proficient in english :-\ Title: Re: Why can't I create a topic in Other Languages(Local)? Finally, how would those users who cannot understand an English-language ANN be able to otherwise interact with the altcoin team in English? Let's say I'm trying to announce bitcoin for the first time. Why shouldn't I be able to post the ANN in my native language? Finally, how would those users who cannot understand an English-language ANN be able to otherwise interact with the altcoin team in English? If your native language wasn't english, you would understand that it's very hard for a new user to understand Whitepapers, ANN posts, and most technical terms for crypto in english. A translated page helps the average user to understand more about a coin. They will then INVEST in the coin. By your logic, no one should ever translate anything! They may be here to read the ANN, not take part in discussions, dev talk ??? Title: Re: Why can't I create a topic in Other Languages(Local)? The translations I have seen here so far haven't even been good ones. But announcements for coins, tokens, services etc. don't really bother me as long as they're confined to their own board or sub-board. But flooding local sub-boards with ANN spam would easily drown out other discussion. And yes, of course it's possible that users are actually flocking here to read advertisements rather than to discuss other matters. But I'm speaking for myself, not for them. |
