Post by: tskweres on August 28, 2013, 11:39:48 PM
Hi All,

Coin Market will be launching public beta September 3rd, and we wanted to get a launch thread going for comments, questions, bugs, and so on. Here's some more info:

  • Commission free trading for the first month
  • We will allow the trading of seven cryptocurrencies
  • US Customers will be able to deposit & withdraw USD via Dwolla
  • For the time being, all other customers must deposit & withdraw fiat currency via wire transfer or money order
  • Verified customers who go through our online KYC process can deposit / withdraw up to $50,000 a month.

If you come across any bugs or have feedback, you can also email support@coinmkt.com

We set out with the goal of bringing order, stability, and awesomeness to the world that is cryptocurrency trading. We hope you'll join us on launch day!

The Feathercoin community is excited about seeing the launch of your exchange. We look forward to testing out the features next week.

I'm curious why Primecoin was not included.  Can we expect to see it or other cryptocurrencies added in the future?

Hi,

awesome!

Is there any restriction or would I be able to trade Bitcoin <> Litecoin instantly when the beta starts?

Seems like it's only play money in the beta.

Here is a presentation:

Really looks great:

Primecoin would be a nice addition, as it offers some different functionality than the other alts. Not so sure about feathercoin.

I do like the UI but there are few issues with the site.

- After logging on I click on blog and it points to this URL, which is a deadlink as of right now: http://blog.coinmkt.com/
- I don't know if it's because no one placed a sell order but order book is blank
- It checks for funds first and doesn't give me an option to see how much USD it'll cost for me to buy X amount of btc

Update:
- I don't want to grant you access to my Dwolla account. I would like to just be able to send my USD to coinmkt.

Yup. Lots o problems.
  • The link to customer support only works if you have the right sort of mail account, which i don't.
  • The "generate bitcoin address" function is not working, um so that's a problem.
  • It rejected my valiant attempt to verify with a picture ID.  Said my name didn't match, even though it did in fact match.
Maybe they opened a little too early.

Hey All,

We're aware of a few bugs and working on them this weekend. A couple of notes:

If you have a middle name or initial on your ID, you must include it as part of your First Name in the 'Your Info' modal - our current ID scan processes your middle name as part of your first name, which is why a lot of people are getting mismatches.

We fixed our generating wallets issue, and will deploy on next release.

And if you're non-US and don't have a social, we've been having issues with people not being able to save their info. In that case, please contact support.

If you have any bugs / issues, or want to get verified manually, you can contact us support@coinmkt.com

Thanks guys, please stick with us while we work out the small kinks, we're working hard and we'll get there!

Travis

tried to register, filled in all the boxes but that big blue button just would not light up. Using Chrome if that helps :|

well there seems to be a bug in your level 1 verification. for non-US registrants it keeps asking for SSN no. "This field is required."

Yes we're deploying a fix for that by the end of the night. Sorry for the hiccup.

I just created an account, but the trade engine won't load for me, it just stays at "loading chart data...".  Is there a specific browser app or plugin that's required?  I tried both firefox and Chrome.

Also, one other minor issue, if I used special characters (!@#$%^&*) in the password before a number, it wouldn't let me create the password, even though I had met all the criteria.  If I put special characters after the first number, it seemed to work ok.

ETA on API and checking or other deposit methods?

Hey All,

To answer a few questions:

API - docs coming in about a month

ACH / Other deposit methods - a few weeks, but no definite timeline, we're in talks. The integration is quick once we lock down our partner.

Bugs:

1. Password special characters fixed.
2. Charts should load more reliably.
3. Withdrawal pin issue is fixed.

For ID Verify - if your country is not supported, unfortunately it may be a bit until we can verify you. You're welcome to send your ID & proof of address to our support team, but we must rely on our third party ID partners for their accuracy in ID'ing customers. We will deal with these on an individual basis.

Thanks all!

Travis

What about this? "Dwolla can no longer process deposits or withdrawals to MtGox": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=205403.0 . How do you see and plan to address the issue/question/risk/opportunity?

Dwolla works with us just fine, we focus on compliance and team up with them to prevent fraud, so we don't have the same relationship issues I think Gox might have.

Right now our biggest problem is finding enough BTC to sell, we've got plenty of USD. You can currently use Dwolla, wire, or money order, and we're working on more options.
