Title: Avalon 741 error rate
Post by: caxibrema on January 27, 2018, 08:22:08 PM
My two Avalon 741 automatically reach ~8.1 TH/s with around 3% error rate.

I've noticed during the ramp up when its ~7 TH/s the error rate is 0%. Is that something normal other folks observe? The miner is running ~80C.

I could force the frequency to be lower and thus avoid the hw error rate. But 3% error rate in 8.1 TH/s seems much better than the advertised 7.3 TH/s.

Just let them run as is. Especially if you are hitting the 8.1 consistently.

I've seen mine get as low as 2.3 and I think the highest I've seen was 3.2.

I wouldn't worry about anything unless you get Error codes in your API log.

Yes, their firmware ramps up the frequency UNTIL it gets HW errors.  That is part of the control loop.  You could try lowering voltage, but the control loop will do the same thing at the lower voltage because that's where it's target is -> fastest frequency that does not give too many HW errors.
