You have a good and well diversified set of coins, but I'd recommend to check out the Odyssey project. It has a very good team and advisor (Justin San). He is also tied with the Tron project.

I don't think that is a bad portfolio.

Infact I would love to have similar kind of diversity.

I am not a pro at trading but I would say that hold because this is just wait and watch game.

From your post, most of your Altcoins were bought at ATH. It's no surprise that half of your portfolio are 50% down in value. Next time, do not forget the golden rule which is to buy the dip (for quality altcoins) and sell off for profit when its high.

For the ICOs, you probably should strategise on either buying when there's a huge bonus (for the early buyers) or wait for it to hit the exchanges to buy it low as soon as it gets dumped.

Qtum and Cardano are good pick for alts.

How much money do you have in your portfolio? If we are talking about small amounts, then it might not be a good idea to diversify this much, because although you are reducing risks, you are reducing the money you can make as well. It might be a better idea to invest in fewer but more secure coins.

Your portfolio is well diversified and those alts were good and I bet that it is really awesome for you to hodl those coins. But there is something's wrong on your choices. Those coins, you bought most of them at its ath. I bet you're a trader that have a lot of funds for taking profits. I recommend you to join signal groups for you to win more! :). Might help.

Thank you for all the replies.

I have invested a bit but not sure if say trx will hit 20 cents again or if XRP will ever return to $2.50?
I just didnt do as much research as I should have before buying.

I do feel as if I have diversified too much... I hope this doesnt cripple me in the long run.

I am looking at ICOS now.. I feel as if i should of invested in ICOs and not so many of these alt coins.

I believe in blockchain and as a evolving peice of technology of the future.

And.. to be honest i wish i had just invested it all into Walton chain.

I think you are over-diversified. It's unlikely that one will find 15 really great coins. Even more unlikely that the best timing for buying these coins would be during the same month.
You could have bought and held eth or neo for 3 months and just lost money if you had bad timing, same with any coin. Long term - product quality. Medium term - Market state. Short term - Coin price state.

It doesn't matter if you buy a great coin if you only hold for 2-3 months and either bought when the market was ATH or bought when just that coin hit ATH.

Personally I hold 5 alts + btc. Each of them is according to me the best coin for that time period.

1 very long term (3 years)
3 medium term (6 months)
1 short term (1-2 month)

If you find a good looking coin, follow if for 2 weeks and to learn it and wait a good op to buy it. Perhaps do nothing but sell off some coins and convert to fiat to buy it in the next market dip.
Never rush-buy any coin. Its better to miss out on several coins than to sit with a big bag of ATH buys.

If you do good research on every coin, price fluctuations won't  affect you as much. Just trust your analysis.
I have had very good gains in my investments and I have never bought ICO. I buy it 3 months after ICO when I can see some results and not only ICO hype and talk. If something goes up 3000% from ICO I only get maybe 1500% but I never lose money.

I think you picked some good coins there! It's good to diversify portfolio. Don't sell at a loss, better to wait for the next bull market and take your profit.

I think your altcoins stash is nice as is but you shouldn't have had bought them at an all time high. Nevertheless, set your target selling prices now while it is early so that you can determine how long you will really hold those coins. I also suggest that you set your sell orders already to the prices you intend to sell them too if they are inside an exchange so that you won't need to open and look on it daily just to see if the current price is what you are waiting for.

Your investment plan is too fragmented. I don't think this is a good phenomenon.
You should study each token and then distribute the money to several tokens. If you want to make more profit, you can invest most of your money in ICO, because ICO is the way to get high returns.

i Agree.

Which ones would you recommend I catagorize into short, med, long term holds?

Quite a huge collection you have there. For me, xrp is not really my thing.
ETH very nice to hold this year. Is going to moon really good.
Onion is also good.
Cardano will moon too, has a good prospect.

I don't known your mean? But you invest in many coin!
Many coin price down after ICO and in exchange!

I am not the biggest fan of XRP but it was my first crypto purchase.

I have been watching crypo on and off for years.

To be honest with you, I was a semi pro gamer in late 2009 i was given 50 btc which were worth about around $1 back then.. but lost them when the hard drive got bad sectors and the wallet was on it and thrown out back then...

It was just as expensive to send the coins to Mtgox back then and would of taken 1 week to send and receive.
Yes sad story but oh well.

It's always good to have your portfolio diversified.  I would also recommend buying some Bitcoin (https://coincodex.com/crypto/bitcoin/) and a 3rd generation cross-blockchain such as Aion (https://coincodex.com/crypto/aion/) or Aeternity (https://coincodex.com/crypto/aeternity/), they will be booming in 2018.

skip consideration of the icos, your altcoins is very good according to my reviews. however, it looks like you bought the wrong time. Now, the best way is continue to hold them and sell when it reached the target. in my opinion, tron and xrp should not continue holding them. the split investment too many types of altcoin are not good methods. the possibility of profits will be reduced when divided by many development-oriented

Your portfolio is sufficiently diversified (As it 's said : you picked a flower from each garden  ;) ) "which seems to be well planned portfolio " but l'd highly recommand that you add to it BTC; because as you know, it has dropped enough & will go upper in the future .
Good luck

XRP – an unbalanced coin that I dont like, but you can keep it till a pump...
ETH – always promising...

Quanstamp - same ass mee! will hodl till 2 bucks

DeepBrainChain – %50 loss for me, keeping for a couple of months
Onion – nice coin
Ven - perfect coin .  -- - -- - VEN, AION and ICX rules
Drgn – perfect coin

You have a nice hodl portfolio, your timing was bad that's all... Didnt like XRP, TRON and PRL in ur portfolio...

Thank you all for your replies its helped me reassure and change my perspective on things.
i can relate to each of your posts.
I see BTC is a solid choice to a portfoilio too.
I would of been more precise with allocating funds to certain coins if i had known what i now know. ( i should of came to this fourm sooner )

Quite not a bad list you provided. If you really have all these coins, then probably it is worth waiting for a good profit. Because it seems to me in spring most of these coins can really make quite serious increases in value. So I think your list is pretty promising

Why did you choose Dent and PRL ? I often came across not quite positive feedback

Title: Re: Feedback on my alts.
Post by: shamzblueworld on January 29, 2018, 09:42:51 AM
Actually you've bought some decent coins, but maybe not at the right time. As you've mentioned most of your buys are at ATH, and as recently they all experienced a big drop, so I guess you're either stuck with your investments for quite some time or you'll be facing huge loss.
So a suggestion would be to just hodl, and don't worry about them for a few months to a year maybe. I'm sure by then most of your coins will be in positive positions for you to profit good.
Good luck!

Why did you choose Dent and PRL ? I often came across not quite positive feedback

Dent has a working app. someone put some stuff on 4chan with a guy who proved he worked at a telcommunications company and saw dents bolt on data working.
Dent releases on andriod in feb
Dent will have a market place later this year
it was 8 cents now its like 3cents?
I like the idea of being able to send data anywhere in the world and you can sell/give this data to people.
Has potential to go up i think?

PRL has a good team, alright project and focuses on paying the consumer and business to interact with each other.
Simliar to BAT.
I heard someone fuked up the amount of coins and this is what has caused a 75% drop in price from where i bought...

Eth, Cardano, onion are some high potential coin that gives you good return as I analyse these pairs already even I also bought all 3 altcoins and your some of altcoins has very high supply that also interupt the growth of the coin still we cant say that they will not grow there are some other factors as well that helps to grow the coin value. The best thing is you well diversify your money overall So I would advice you to hold on hope it will back to green again.

I also bought Ethereum, Oyster Pearl, BAT, Ripple and XLM. I think all these coins a good for a long term investment and you should stay with them. But there is one coin that I miss and that is Litecoin! Why you dont wanna own litecoin?

Your list is very long and its not easy to keep an eye on many altcoins at the same time. Some altcoins are very good and they are long term coin but some are average choice. You are thinking right to hold on and I heard about Pundix and it is a good ICO and you can go long with this also.

You got some awesome picks there but I think you're spread a little bit too thin. I'd personally get rid of dent and bat for a start, not really a fan of those but that's just me.

Looks like a very good portfolio, mixed with safe coins, and some risky ones capable of being home runs. I wouldn't diversify as much as you did because I'm more of a gambler / take more risks, but I think your portfolio looks very safe, and won't result in losses

Title: Re: Feedback on my alts.

I see your selection of coins and checked it as well. You bought many altcoins when they were at their peaks, that's why your coins worth are reduced. There is one more reason behind it that bitcoin value also reduced. Always try to buy at lows so that you will not worried, if you are planning to hold then its fine as after some time  it can comes to profit.

Your portfolio is looking very nice. Your holdings diversified in some coins and ico's that is a good thing for your portfolio, some altcoins are very good and long term coins and you are right to hold them, but some are average also.

Nice portfolio with mix of big and small coins - issue was timing (as is mine)

If you have spare cash, buy the dips to average down purchase price

Looking at your portfolio , you chosen all good altocins but you made mistake that bought on all time high price  and as market crashed heavily your all coins dumped almost 50% but I think you should not to worry is if long term investor like 1-2 years because you seen that because of some bad news Bitcoin crashed and alll altcoins followed but as market come out from this fall and go in bulsish mode you will get good profit. So dont sell , hold your coins.

Ripple is not a real altcoin as this is the currency that is centralized. I mean XRP sure. As soon as many banks agree to work with this coin, and they show their interest, Ripple will grow. I do not think any reason to call it scam, but sure this is not my favorite.

To be honest not great but not bad either. Overall it is a good portfolio in my opinion.  You can average down on some of your coins just to even up the price.  As of now just hold as we may see new price high this year.

Honestly, I envy you mate. I have but high remarks for some of the coins in your portfolio. It's a good thing as well that you have those better and stronger altcoins in the market that has better chances of survival even in the most dire market situation. As many say in the cryptocurrency that diversity is key; I think that you really have put that and done that by heart for having such a wide array of collection. I think the next best move is to find good trades or investments to use up those coins for a bigger profit than just waiting passively for them to increase value.

Pundix is a long-held ICO project, because they have their own POS machines, and the ICO project is gaining popularity.
The hard hat of the tradove ICO project is a bit high, and at Bitcointalk forum, I've seen posts about its negative messages, maybe you should be researching this ICO project again.
