Title: Antminer loosing connection
Post by: Bootboy on January 28, 2018, 04:00:21 PM
Hy Guys,
Following problem:
Got me 3 S9 the last days.
Starting configuring them, after round about 10 minutes, they are loosing network connection.
After starting over, they are available on the LAN again...for 10 minutes...
Also resetting to default brings up no solution.
Other miners in the same Netwok(6 D3) are working fine and don´t have any problems, its just the S9s...
Put them on another switch, same here....
Any suggestion?
I´m a bit confused...
Thanks in advance for help!
BR

Dumb suggestion but.. Have you tried changing your Ethernet Cable?

They could be shutting down due to over temperature - what to the chip temps look like when running?

Yes...
But would have been a miracle, if all 3 cables would have been damaged.....;=)

it depends from your settings, i was poking at this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1141938;sa=showPosts

And when i done every step, there was some checkbox, that shown something along this line "Shutdown at 90C"... So you can see your settings and edit them. What are your current temperatures? Can you post screenshot of your UI with temps?

Yes , check your temps, I had a S9 recently set to shut off at 70c from the manufacture, it would run for 10 min then stop....

Also please post your Kernel log it will tell you why the miner shut off or lost connection

The only time I ever encountered this problem, it turned out the culprit was having multiple wireless extenders. The solution was to disable the wireless extending and use them only as access points for the main router. Not saying that’s your problem, but could be a possible solution for someone with a congested WiFi network.
