what is quality post? Is BTC a pure technical forum or a economic forum ? or both ?

I believe some of them will... and also believe that most of them will not !   Just my opinion, selfish but true!
Some of the mods and legends in bct contributed a lot , but many others never contributed, they are legends just because they'v been here several years ago !

If you owned a company, who will make the rules there ? You or your employees ? This is a privately pwned forum and you have to follow the rules whether you like them or not. Some people will say that if members are not taken care of, then they will leave and the forum will die. But we forget that there are other things to take care of. What if those advertisers start leaving this forum because the posts here are useless and repetitive. Who will pay for the server and staff costs then ? Thus, an admin may have to take some harsh decisions like this from time to time.

Wait a second i don't think you understood the whole idea about the merit system.

Merit system doesn't ban you from posting the forum had never really banned anyone even if they were spamming  or have red tag. You can still post one liners or burst post as long as you are not in any signature campaign.

Who told it is unfair for new members they can still make account and discuss if they wish to do so or crying about the fact you can't join signature campaigns anymore well this is a forum it is meant for discussion all the  signature campaigns are just a bonus for users posting and advertising for the company.

Firstly stop complaining about mods and legends they have been in this forum for year even in 2010 when no one even gave a shit about btc or about this forum , that time there were no signature campaigns , no one paid them the hosting and domain charges they paid from there income they never complained or bragged that they have been running this forum from their own funds without any revenue, then what makes you say they don't deserve to join any bounty.
And speaking of merits there are a few threads around if you feel you make quality posts give them the link you can get merits.
Stop crying you can't make a income from forum it's just additional bonus go get a real job.

The admins of this forum have all the right to change the rules in this forum. They also have all the right to assign anyone they want to be moderators and staff. The admins use their best judgement on all their moves in this forum and they do that for the advancement of this forum. If you have any suggestion send it to them and let them have a look and study. But for now lets embrace this merit system and see how it goes. This is just new, not even a month implemented for us to judge that its not good. Its either you are part of the solution or you are part of the problem.

Chinese shitposter detected. I'm almost certain that this guy has multiple alts which were previously making nice money by doing nothing but posting crap in the chinese section which he could get away with since the board doesn't have an active mod, hence why he's so annoyed because all those accounts will now be useless. The semux campaign that he is on has been hugely exploited by chinese farmers in that board because they accepted an unlimited amount of users and don't bother checking users posts. It's pretty funny how people are annoyed that they're now going to actually have to put effort into their posts. Greed and laziness at its finest.

The system is here, people need to just roll with it. Stop making new threads attempting to farm merit, Stop moaning about a system that has been put in place to clean the forum up, READ MORE... I think that is the biggest point that any of the newbies need to take from this. Read the front page of a board before you post and lastly just try to be better posters

I think the sentiment here is that people are disappointed at the management capability of the admins, including their way of communicating the inevitable pain in such process. For sure this is a private forum and admin can do whatever they want. They started building this community from 2010 and they have every right to destroy it. The truth is that people can vote with their feet and if the system is bad enough, another forum will replace bitcointalk.org. Then merit or level on BTT won't mean anything.

Governments tries to ban bitcoin but they can't, even those are their (sort of) private countries and the rulers can do whatever they want. Deploying a new Trumpester system to see how it goes, being completely ignorant and insensitive of how most people feels, while every single hero/legendary members in this thread has some signature campaigns going on, is irresponsible, incompetent, and is a bad sign for the forum.

Everything has its time in history. Even bitcoin might eventually die to give place for maybe a better designed value system. Now could be the ending of the beginning or BTT, but it could also be the beginning of its ending.

Way back 2010, I guess its not even an issue, but now it is. And the answer of BCT is you don't rank up if post quality is not good based on the merits awarded to the user who posted. We don't want the admins of BCT to just say, lets re-start all over again, new forum and implement the merit system. Lets give the merit system a try.

The problem is a suggestion from us is 99% being ignored and only 0.9% chance that your suggestion will reach them. 0.1% they agree with it. What will happened by this merit system is..
- Farmer will become rich for the opportunity that has been given to them.
Selling merits is easy as shit!
- DTs gonna be ruined by this system and farmer can overwhelm it by giving merits wrongly but intentionally..
