Title: Need some help, something wrong with my wallet bitcoin won't start Post by: BOARBEAR on July 13, 2011, 07:39:48 AM My OS is windows vista x64
While my machine is mining, bitcoin crashed(I don't know why). I have to close it. After that, I won't be able to start bitcoin. I get this message when I try to start bitcoin: http://i53.tinypic.com/20zpwdv.png after I click ok this pops up http://i56.tinypic.com/mwcoqx.png click ok again and this pops up http://i51.tinypic.com/23tp9g3.png That's it. Bitcoin won't start anymore. Title: Re: Need some help, something wrong with my wallet bitcoin won't start Post by: drawoc on July 13, 2011, 04:42:22 PM Go to: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin
Copy the file "wallet.dat" somewhere safe. (This is IMPORTANT) Delete everything in C:\Users\[YourUserName]\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin Copy wallet.dat back to C:\Users\[YourUserName]\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin Restart the Bitcoin client. You'll have to wait a while for it to re download the entire blockchain. You turned off your computer and/or bitcoin without letting bitcoin properly shut down is most likely the case. Remember, bitcoin is still in BETA coding stages, so it's not perfect, but it's getting there! |
